Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (264) - JUPITER HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 SERGEANT PEPPER (E432) L Hewitson Approaching the 300 Metres was shifted to the inside of KOWLOON EAST STAR to secure clear running.
After the race, L Hewitson could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 SAVVY DELIGHT (E386) Z Purton Approaching the 150 Metres was directed to the outside of KING INVINCIBLE to secure clear running.
Horse No 3 GREAT ACHIEVER (J049) C L Chau From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 GUSTY FIGHTER (J029) A Atzeni Bumped on jumping.
Near the 300 Metres made contact with VALIANT ELEGANCE when briefly crowded between VALIANT ELEGANCE and LIFE IS GOOD which shifted out to obtain clear running.
After the race, A Atzeni reported that his mount hung out on the Home Turn.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 KOWLOON EAST STAR (E158) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 6 PACKING PROSPECT (H424) J McDonald Leaving the 150 Metres was briefly crowded by DIAMOND SOARS.
After the race, J McDonald advised that his mount jumped awkwardly and as a result lost ground and settled further back than intended.
He added with the fast early pace and the horse having its first race start, PACKING PROSPECT was unable to maintain a more forward position, but made up good ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
Horse No 7 VALIANT ELEGANCE (D285) A Hamelin Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and lay out in the middle stages and as a consequence made the Home Turn wide.
Horse No 8 LUCKY QUALITY (D050) K H Chan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 DIAMOND SOARS (G201) C Y Ho Bumped near the 150 Metres.
After the race, C Y Ho reported that after holding an on-pace position, his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
Trainer P F Yiu stated that the horse may have been disadvantaged by being pressured in a forward position and as a result was unable to finish the race off strongly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 KING INVINCIBLE (H199) K C Leung Near the 150 Metres bumped with DIAMOND SOARS when taken in by LIFE IS GOOD (Apprentice Y L Chung) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
Apprentice Chung was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 11 LIFE IS GOOD (H118) Y L Chung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 TIMESTORM (G109) A Badel Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the 100 Metres was crowded between SERGEANT PEPPER and PACKING PROSPECT which shifted in and away from DIAMOND SOARS.

Life Is Good travelled one off the fence just worse than midfield and produced a good turn of foot to break through for his maiden Hong Kong win on his ninth local start and first appearance for Pierre Ng Pang-chi. He was first up following fetlock surgery. If he pulls up fine, he has the tools to go back to back. Lucky Quality dashed nicely down the outside for second following Alfred Chan Ka-hei's patient ride second last. He is racing well without winning this season. Savvy Delight ran on well down the middle to fill a placing after his wide trip towards the rear from gate 12. He is mixing his form. Punted late, Kowloon East Star grudgingly gave way after rolling forward to share the lead outside Diamond Soars. It was a better effort. King Invincible stayed on all right after his rail run better than midfield. He is proving costly to follow. Early favourite Packing Prospect came from near last to finish the next best after his slow start. It was a good debut effort. Great Achiever ran on from the rear without threatening the winner. It was a positive debut performance. Diamond Soars found little in the home straight.
