Power Koepp showed a good turn of foot to come from last 550m out to just deny Midori Beauty for a second win from his past four starts. He'll remain in the grade and can win again. Well-backed Midori Beauty did everything right but get the win after surging to the front 300m out chasing the speed one-off in third. It was a much-improved effort second-up and he'll be winning races when the penny drops. Sakewin cleared to lead from a tricky gate 900m out and kept on one-paced when headed for the lead. He's still run with merit in back-to-back runs after winning his first two career starts. Keen Unity ran on nicely travelling three from the back to nearly place It was a smart debut performance. Veteran Regency Bo Bo ran on nicely down the grandstand side to nearly fill the frame after turning the final bend at the rear of the field. He's not easy to get right. Ace One weakened near the 100m to just miss out on a pay cheque after a pace-stalking run from a wide gate. The big weight following back-to-back wins took its toll. Specked late Gracylove made some ground late without menacing from towards the rear. He's a Class Four horse.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (797) - BETTER FUTURE 1200M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

SAKEWIN began awkwardly, shifted in abruptly and bumped SUPER BUDDY.

ACE ONE shifted out at the start and hampered GRACYLOVE and KEEN UNITY.

After this, from the outside barriers, GRACYLOVE and KEEN UNITY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 900 Metres, REGENCY BO BO raced tight inside the heels of GRACYLOVE.

Then passing the 900 Metres, KEEN UNITY was bumped by GRACYLOVE which was taken out by SUPER BUDDY.

Near the 750 Metres, REGENCY BO BO briefly raced in restricted room between LUCKY QUALITY and KEEN UNITY.

H T Mo (SUPER BUDDY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that rounding the Home Turn and at the entrance to the Straight he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of GRACYLOVE, causing that horse to be hampered and to be taken out onto KEEN UNITY which became badly unbalanced when unnecessarily crowded for room between GRACYLOVE and POWER KOEPP.

H T Mo was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 13 July 2022 and to expire on Sunday, 17 July 2022 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Mo's good race riding record.

Passing the 300 Metres, KEEN UNITY raced tight outside the heels of GRACYLOVE which shifted out.

A veterinary inspection of STAR BRITE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SAKEWIN, POWER KOEPP and MIDORI BEAUTY were sent for sampling.
