Recap by phillip woo
Early favourite Bourbonaire won by a widening six lengths after getting his own way in front from gate five. He had been knocking on the door and relished the wet going. Money Catcher couldn't match the winner but kept on gamely for second after a pace-stalking run. It was another honest performance. Running Glory came from a distant last to grab third in the final few metres. It was another eye-catching effort after winning five of 10 other starts. Post-time favourite Sight Spirit only plodded when asked for an effort following a prominent run but was caught three deep for the opening 600m. It was an OK effort over a longer trip in a higher grade after a near win last start. California Ten made a mild bid to just get the head down for a payslip after a one-off run trip in midfield. He's not easy to get right. Beluga found nothing when asked for an effort after making his run fourth along the fence. The wet ground was his enemy. Flying Quest made no impression after a rails run worse than midfield. Tianchi Monster never fired a short travelling third last. He's not good enough at this level. Celestial Power finished a long last after making his run one from the rear. He's disappointed in back-to-back runs.
