Favourite Romantic Combo took control 230m out after a perfect run one off in fourth for a third win this season and second in Class Three. He's racing well and can win again. Amazing Teens came on nicely to just edge So We Joy for second after a one-off trip behind midfield. He continues to add to his fine form on the dirt despite a rise in grade. So We Joy just lost second along the inside after a rails run in midfield. He's more effective at a mile. King's Capital ran on well to fill a quartet spot without menacing the topthree after biding his time deep towards the rear. It was a better run on his past couple. Delightful Laos was doing some nice work late down the outside from the rear of the field after a slow start. He has been finding the line better in back-to-back runs. Rocket Spade made a mild bid without threatening after travelling one-off behind midfield. It was another disappointing run. Skyey Supreme was stopping 100m out after getting his own way in front from an ideal draw. He's a Class Four horse. Party Everyday never got into the act after making his run three-to-four deep towards the rear.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (706) - PIPER'S HILL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters

EMERGING began very awkwardly and lost ground.

DELIGHTFUL LAOS was slow to begin.

Then from wide barriers, EMERGING and DELIGHTFUL LAOS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

PARTY EVERYDAY began awkwardly and near the 800 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.

After the 1200 Metres, CHANCHENG PRINCE travelled keenly and near the 1000 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.

DARCI JOY was also left racing wide and without cover near the 1000 Metres.

C L Chau (KING'S CAPITAL) dropped his whip after the 1000 Metres.

As this was the 6th occasion that C L Chau has been reported to have dropped his whip in races this season, he was fined the sum of $10,000.

L Currie (AMAZING TEENS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching and passing the 1000 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in which resulted in FUNCTION PATCH racing in restricted room between AMAZING TEENS and ROCKET SPADE and contributing to that horse losing its rightful running near the 900 Metres.

L Currie was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 22 June 2022 and to expire on Sunday, 26 June 2022 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

Approaching the 200 Metres, SKYEY SUPREME raced tight inside SO WE JOY which got its head on the side and lay in away from ROMANTIC COMBO.

C Wong (SKYEY SUPREME) dropped his whip at the 200 Metres.

The performances of INFINITE POWER and FUNCTION PATCH, both of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, INFINITE POWER and FUNCTION PATCH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of INFINITE POWER and FUNCTION PATCH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, it was reported that EMERGING was displaying signs of heat stress.

Before being allowed to race again, EMERGING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of DARCI JOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ROMANTIC COMBO and AMAZING TEENS were sent for sampling.
