Well-backed Power Koepp just held off Seven Heavens by lip for the win after getting out of a jam 350m out to lead 50m travelling behind following an awkward start. He was able to build on an eye-catching third with a step back to the straight 1,000m last start and can win again. Seven Heavens made it close on the wire after getting held up for a run until the 150m following a midfield run on the grandstand side. He's not easy to get right but is certainly capable on his day. Metro Warrior grudgingly gave way to just hold third after finding the lead from a middle draw. He's always a chance in this grade. Favourite Run Run Cool found a few too good after poking his head in front 200m out following a prominent run. The big weight took its toll in the end. Ping Hai Galaxy gradually faded pressing the pace near the stands side. It was a better effort at just his second run this term. Summing Cheers weakened 100m out after sharing the lead from a low draw. He was in need of the run after length injury-induced absence. Alcari just plodded when asked for more following a handy run. He was in need of the run following a break.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (650) - BALSAMINE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters

CALIFORNIA FOREST began only fairly.

RUN RUN COOL shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of METRO WARRIOR which began awkwardly.

JUMBO GOAL shifted in abruptly at the start, resulting in POWER KOEPP being badly hampered when checked as a result of being crowded for room outside PING HAI GALAXY.

POWER KOEPP was badly held up for clear running passing the 400 Metres and near the 350 Metres was awkwardly placed behind SUMMIT CHEERS when being shifted to the inside of that horse.

SEVEN HEAVENS was held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres.

Passing the 300 Metres, SUMMIT CHEERS shifted out and brushed the hindquarters of RUN RUN COOL and then passing the 200 Metres RUN RUN COOL and SUMMIT CHEERS bumped.

Near the 50 Metres, RUN RUN COOL lay in under pressure, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten his mount.

RUN RUN COOL, POWER KOEPP and SEVEN HEAVENS were sent for sampling.
