Race Seven: (619) - THE FWD CHAMPIONS MILE - Class G1 - 1600Meters
MIGHTY GIANT shifted out at the start and bumped HEALTHY HAPPY.
A veterinary inspection of MIGHTY GIANT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOLDEN SIXTY and MORE THAN THIS were sent for sampling.

Odds-on favourite Golden Sixty just held off his fast-finishing stablemate More Than This for a 14th straight win after taking off from the rear at the 600m to lead 300m out. He just scraped in but he was having his first run off a 63 day break. More Than This came from last at the head of the straight to nearly cause an upset. He's really stamped himself as a smart miler this season. Southern Legend stayed on a non-threatening third after a prominent run. It was another honest effort. Healthy Happy just held on for fourth after getting his own way in front. It was a pleasing performance despite being badly handicapped in this set weights contest. Ka Ying Star gradually faded after stalking the speed. He's not quite good enough at Group One level. Mighty Giant was disappointing after a box-seat run. He stole the Chairman's Trophy 20 days back after getting away with very slow fractions but there was none of that here.
