Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (416) - ORCHID HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
SPLENDID TIMING shifted in at the start and was steadied away from the heels of STREET SCREAM, resulting in SPLENDID TIMING losing ground.
From the outside barriers, CHIKORITA and FOREVER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the turn approaching the 1000 Metres, DAILY BEAUTY was tightened for room inside SPRINT FORWARD which was steadied away from the heels of STREET SCREAM (C Schofield) which shifted in when not properly clear.
C Schofield was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
HAPPILY FRIENDS made the turn near the 1000 Metres awkwardly.
Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, CHIKORITA, which was travelling keenly, was steadied away from the heels of SPLENDID TIMING.
After this, CHIKORITA continued to travel keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of SPLENDID TIMING near the 950 Metres.
SKY CHAMPION got its head on the side and made the turn near the 1000 Metres awkwardly.
After the 1000 Metres, FOCUS was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 450 Metres, FOCUS raced tight outside HAPPILY FRIENDS which got its head on the side and lay out when racing close to the heels of ZACIAN.
Approaching the 400 Metres, ZACIAN raced tight outside STREET SCREAM which improved into tight running outside JOLLY GOOD HEART.
DAILY BEAUTY and JOLLY GOOD HEART were sent for sampling.

Firming favourite Daily Beauty finished nicely to win going away 50m out after a rails run better than midfield. He had been threatening to win all season long and should remain competitive in the grade. Jolly Good Heart just held on for second after straightening nearly three lengths on top leading from gate nine. He was able to back up a good run last start and will be saluting shortly. Happily Friends ran on steadily to make it close for second following a one-off run in a prominent spot. He proved a placing last start was not a fluke and can bob up at any moment. Smiling Face ran on well to fill the frame after a rails run behind midfield. He does appear from his past two starts to be getting the hang of things. Street Scream came up one-paced when asked for an effort following a boxseat run. He might require a longer trip. Punted late, Sprint Forward ran on without menacing after settling one off in midfield. He's on his mark. Zacian gave way over the final 150m after trying to stay with the leader from a wide gate. He's still learning.
