Recap by phillip woo
Veteran Kirov came from last to overhaul Grand Harbour 60m out for a fourth-career success. He's hard to get right but always a chance on either surface. Grand Harbour defied a tough run without cover chasing the leaders to just miss after poking his head in front 100m out. Striking Mr C edged clear rounding the final bend after vying for the lead to the outside of favourite Winning Supreme but was swamped late. He'll be hard to beat if he can draw the fence. Red Horse stayed on a non-threatening third following a prominent run on the fence. He'll improve fitness-wise from this run but is better on the turf. Winning Supreme didn't find much when push came to shove after sharing the lead on the fence. He failed to back up from a near Wednesday win at the Valley but certainly has the tools to win a race down the line in this grade. Plunged late Diamond Master ran on without threatening sitting third from the back.
