Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (26) - SHANTOU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
CITY LEGEND began awkwardly and shortly after the start was bumped by ENJOY LIFE which shifted out.
From the outside barriers, INVESTOR BOOM and FOREVER POSH were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
AVELLINO was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
SUPER FUN travelled keenly in the early and middle stages.
Near the 550 Metres, CITY LEGEND and ROCKAGE raced tight as CITY LEGEND shifted to the outside of ENJOY LIFE.
Passing the 400 Metres, ROCKAGE was bumped by AVELLINO which was directed to the outside of CITY LEGEND to obtain clear running.
AVELLINO was then shifted in away from the heels of CITY LEGEND passing the 350 Metres when unable to improve to that horse's outside.
A veterinary inspection of VITAL SPRING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PAKISTAN FRIEND, HINYUEN SWIFTNESS and CITY LEGEND were sent for sampling.

Hinyuen Swiftness established a decent break at the 400m after shaking off a challenge for the front by Super Fun and held off late-fancied City Legend for a maiden win at his 25th run following several pleasing runs last term. City Legend was closing the gap with every stride travelling underneath the favourite Pakistan Friend in midfield. He's always flashed potential without delivering. Pakistan Friend made a steady bid late without menacing in third after jumping much better on this occasion. Super Fun stuck on surprisingly well at huge odds punching the breeze. The summer recess and a downgrade worked favourably but he'll need to prove it wasn't a one-off effort. Enjoy Life came up flat following a prominent run on the fence for his new trainer. He might need more time to recover from a successful campaign. Vital Spring knocked up 150m out after looming a chance at the 250m following a speed-chasing run. He needed the outing.
