Racing Incident Report
Race Two: (327)-LOK WAH HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres
On arrival at the Start, Z Purton expressed concern regarding the action of EXCEL ONESELF.EXCEL ONESELF was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was lame in its left front leg and accordingly was not suitable to race.
Acting on this advice, EXCEL ONESELF was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
Before being allowed to race again, EXCEL ONESELF will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
PADDINGTON began only fairly and then shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of SECRET AGENT which shifted out after being bumped by BEAR CHUM.
Then from the outside barrier, PADDINGTON was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
CHEER WIN began awkwardly and then, despite being ridden along, failed to muster speed.
Despite being hard ridden in the early stages, FANTASTIC FABIO failed to muster speed and raced back in the field.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, WINFULL PATROL got its head up when being steadied to allow LYRIC ACE to cross.
After the 500 Metres, FANTASTIC FABIO and ST YAZIN raced tight.
After initially shifting out under pressure after the 200 Metres, MR RIGHT then shifted in over the concluding stages.
MR RIGHT and BEAR CHUM were sent for sampling.

Mr Right drifted out while hitting the front 160m out following a box-seat run but kept on gamely for the win as the late-fancied favourite. The key was a drop in class with a return to his favourite 1,000m over this course. Bear Chum finished well to grab a placing 80m out after executing well to land a spot in midfield from a wide gate. He's near a bottom and should be scoring in a sprint at either track soon. Debutant Paddington produced an eye-catching run to come from near last after easing back from a wide gate to land a placing. He'll stay a lot further when fully mature. Early favourite Cheer Win really got going in the last furlong after travelling behind midfield along the fence to just miss a placing in his initial run over this course. He's better suited over the 1,200m at either course. Beauty Connection came up one-paced when popped the question after landing a nice spot one off the fence in midfield from a tricky gate. He's nothing special and will need to drop further in the handicaps. Ocean Roar weakened tamely on the speed. He's a shadow of his former self. Excel Oneself is a late vet scratching.
