Recap by phillip woo

Loving Star recovered from a tardy break to eventually settle fourth along the rails, straightened five deep and got up 100m out for the win to continue his consistent season. Early favourite Happy Rocky settled third from the rear, inched forward at the 800m, was hard ridden coming to the final bend and finished well with three wider out for second. He relished a return to Class Four. Late-fancied favourite Robust Momentum went forward three deep to eventually land a spot outside the leader Griffindor at the 1,200m, advanced to the front 350m out and found a couple too strong in the end. Amazing Always was ridden for luck third from the rear from a wide gate, swung the final bend with one wider out and closed off nicely to make it close for third. Good Method finished well widest out after travelling at the tail of the field. Griffindor held the front along the rails, was headed soon after straightening and was stopping 150m out. Kitaya was handy in the run one off the fence, pulled off the heels of Commandant to travel four from the right at the 250m and kept on evenly thereafter. Commandant faded after a torrid trip.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (537)-THE EWO CHALLENGE TROPHY (HANDICAP) (Sec2) - Class 4 - 1650Metres

ISLAND FLYER lost ground after beginning very awkwardly which also caused its rider, O Doleuze, to become unbalanced.

From wide barriers, GOOD METHOD, HAPPY ROCKY and AMAZING ALWAYS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 1300 Metres, COOL BEAN got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of VARA PEARL.

Passing the 1200 Metres, GOOD METHOD was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside COOL BEAN which raced tight inside MASTER PINNACLE.

Passing the 1100 Metres, MASTER PINNACLE, which was racing ungenerously, shifted in abruptly, causing COOL BEAN to be crowded for room.

GOOD METHOD, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of COOL BEAN.

Approaching the 900 Metres, MASTER PINNACLE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VARA PEARL.

Near the 250 Metres, KITAYA was momentarily steadied when disappointed for running between COMMANDANT and HAPPY ROCKY which shifted in.

Throughout the race, COMMANDANT travelled wide and without cover.

Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of N Rawiller (GRIFFINDOR), 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race where circumstances permit.

ROBUST MOMENTUM, LOVING STAR and HAPPY ROCKY were sent for sampling.
