Race Eight : (800) - CHEONG MING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 RED HARE KING (H188) H Bowman Near the 650 Metres bumped with JUMBO LEGEND after RED HARE KING was shifted to the outside of CAPITAL LEGEND to obtain a position outside that runner.
Over the concluding stages brushed with STAR CONTACT as that runner shifted in as it commenced to improve past RED HARE KING.
Horse No 2 ZOOM BOOM (G131) H Bentley Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 FORTUNATE SON (J446) B Avdulla Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 4 JOYFUL HUNTER (H198) A Atzeni Sustained an abrasion to the right hock at the holding stables, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Horse No 5 STAR CONTACT (E472) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 JOLLY RULER (E346) A Hamelin Passing the 1400 Metres got its head up when being steadied to allow ZOOM BOOM to cross.
Horse No 7 AESTHETICISM (H289) L Hewitson Shortly after the start shifted in and made contact with the hindquarters of ZOOM BOOM.
Horse No 8 GLORIOUS JOURNEY (J137) M F Poon From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Was left racing very wide and without cover from the 700 Metres.
Horse No 9 CAPITAL LEGEND (G333) C Y Ho After the race, C Y Ho reported that his mount travelled well in the lead but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 WRITTEN CASA (J305) B Thompson Bumped at the start.
Raced wide and without cover in the early stages.
Horse No 11 JUMBO LEGEND (G266) A Badel Near the 650 Metres was bumped and raced wide and without cover thereafter.
After the race, A Badel stated that after making a mid-race move near the 800 Metres, JUMBO LEGEND was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a roarer which had previously been reported.
Horse No 12 EXUBERANT (E282) Y L Chung Bumped at the start.

Favourite Zoom Boom kept finding after poking his head in front 150m out following a prominent run on the fence for a second win from his past four starts. He should remain in the grade and can win again. Star Contact just edged Red Hare King for second after settling effectively one-out, one-back. He has run well to place in his past four starts. Red Hare King just lost second after briefly poking his head in front 200m out after chasing the speed from gate 11. He is as honest as the day is long. Glorious Journey kept on much better after circling the field 750m out to sit third approaching the final bend. It was his best showing from seven starts in Class Three. Fortunate Son ran on steadily for fifth after settling one off the rail midfield. It was a positive effort at his first local start. Jolly Ruler made some ground without threatening after settling just worse than midfield on the fence. Aestheticism got going late near the inside to finish next best after biding his time two from the rear. He is more effective over a mile trip at Sha Tin. Jumbo Legend made a mid-race move from towards the rear but it was short lived.
