Race Two : (428) - TVB TUNG WAH CELEBRITY SHOW HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 JUMBO LEGEND (G266) E C W Wong Jumped awkwardly.
After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 2 SUPER HIGHWAY (G050) Y L Chung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 3 SEIZING THE MOMENT (E444) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 4 COPARTNER PRANCE (H408) K De Melo Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight.
Horse No 5 CHATEAUNEUF (J219) Z Purton Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 GREAT SPIRIT (J155) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 NEVER PETER OUT (J200) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly and then blundered shortly after the start.
Horse No 9 ROBOT KNIGHT (H464) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly.
Leaving the 500 Metres momentarily raced tight to the inside of GREAT SPIRIT.
After the race, C L Chau reported that his mount was not comfortable racing inside other horses and would derive benefit from today's race experience.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 COMPASSION SUPER (G283) M L Yeung From the 200 Metres until passing the 50 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.
Horse No 12 COMMANDING MISSILE (G210) M F Poon Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Horse No FUN N GLORY (G003) L Hewitson Withdrawn on 17.2.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (heart irregularity) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter SEIZING THE MOMENT.
Before being allowed to race again, FUN N GLORY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Debutant Chateauneuf was too smart after claiming the lead 160m out following a prominent run one off the fence from gate 10 to salute as the favourite. He lived up to his trials and there's clearly a future for him. Great Spirit just out-dashed Seizing The Moment for second after making his run one off from behind midfield. It was a very good effort on debut. Seizing The Moment ran on nicely near the outside to just miss second after making his run three from the rear. He relished a downgrade. Punted late Copartner Prance weakened over the last 100m after tracking the speed from a tricky gate. It as another honest effort. Massive Talent ran on steadily after making his run on the fence in midfield. He couldn't cope carrying six pounds more following a win. Sea Sapphire finished next best after dictating the run from gate seven. It was a typical effort despite a switch in venues. Compassion Super had his chance after a box seat run. Super Highway only beat a few from near last from the widest draw.
