Well-backed Nimble Nimbus quickened nicely to get up 100m out after shifting into a three wide spot with cover from behind midfield 800m out for a sixth career win. Five G Patch burst through a gap late to make it close on the wire after switching out for a clear run 300m out following a patient ride three from the rear. It was solid effort. Straight Arron came from last to finish a close third. It was a solid effort carrying top weight. La City Blanche stayed on nicely for fourth after improving out wide to eventually find a spot three wide with cover from behind midfield mid-race. It was another honest effort. Champion Dragon faded late poking his head in front near the 200m after working forward three wide to eventual track the leader one off at the 1,000m. He rarely produces a bad run over the Sha Tin 1,800m. Fantastic Treasure made headway late to finish next best after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest effort. Favourite Happy Together and Encountered were badly held up for runs and should have finished closer. Super Sunny Sing had an excuse trip from midfield.

Horse No 1 STRAIGHT ARRON (G435) H Bowman Badly crowded at the start by SWORD POINT which shifted in.

Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of NIMBLE NIMBUS.

Horse No 2 ENCOUNTERED (G236) K C Leung Between the 400 Metres and the 50 Metres was badly held up for clear running until it shifted to the inside of CHAMPION DRAGON at the 50 Metres to secure clear running.

Horse No 3 MONEY CATCHER (G171) L Ferraris Bumped at the start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 SWORD POINT (G448) L Hewitson Over the concluding stages was eased when crowded between HAPPY TOGETHER and ENCOUNTERED which shifted in.

In this incident, FIVE G PATCH was then taken in by FANTASTIC TREASURE which raced tight to the inside of LA CITY BLANCHE which shifted in and away from NIMBLE NIMBUS (A Atzeni) which also shifted in.
