Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (390) - PEACH BLOSSOM HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 NOT USUAL STAR (G396) C L Chau Near the 400 Metres was bumped by YOUNG CHAMPION.
Horse No 3 YOUNG CHAMPION (J195) J McDonald Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the 400 Metres shifted to the outside of KA YING VICTORY to secure clear running and as a result made contact with NOT USUAL STAR.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 EXCELLENT FIGHTER (G343) M Barzalona Bumped on jumping.
After the race, M Barzalona reported that after travelling wide but with cover, he placed his mount under pressure in the Home Straight where it failed to respond to his riding.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 ILLUMINOUS (J170) K Teetan Slow to begin.
Held up for clear running between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres.
Near the 100 Metres raced tight to the inside of YOUNG CHAMPION and was accidentally struck across the poll of the head by the whip of J McDonald (YOUNG CHAMPION) in this incident.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 KA YING VICTORY (H287) Z Purton Near the 150 Metres, when giving ground, was steadied when crowded between I GIVE which shifted out and ILLUMINOUS which improved into a narrow run to the inside of YOUNG CHAMPION and as a result shifted in slightly.
After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and he had some concern with the manner in which KA YING VICTORY had pulled up following the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, KA YING VICTORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 7 PRAWNS ELEVEN (J140) L Hewitson Near the 300 Metres attempted a narrow run to the inside of I GIVE but was steadied when disappointed for the run.
Horse No 9 KA YING POWER (H169) A Badel Bumped on jumping.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 10 MIDORI BEAUTY (G334) K De Melo Slow to begin.

Illuminous weaved a run near the inside to take control 50m out after biding his time second last for a smart win at his first local run. He's got a nice future in Hong Kong. Young Champion found one just too good after hitting the front 120m out following a rails run from midfield. It was a very good run on his local debut. Not Usual Star stayed on well for third after copping bump 300m out travelling effectively one-out, one-back. He's not far off a bottom. I Give faded late after dictating the run from gate three. The big weight took its toll after ringing up a sixth win this season last start. Oriental Smoke ran on steadily to just miss the frame after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was an improved run but is well rated on the back of three wins last season. Midori Beauty ran on without threatening from the rear of the field. It was an okay effort. Newcomer Prawns Eleven was held up for a majority of the straight and only whacked on when a run finally appeared 100m out. He should have finished closer. Favourite Ka Ying Victory tamely faded after tracking the speed. He cost punters in both starts this term.
