Racing Incident Report
Race One: (1) - MOUNT PARKER HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Meters
LEATHER MASTER, which jumped only fairly, was then crowded between DAZZLING FELLOW and RING BELLS which was taken out by SPLENDID STAR.
FLYING GALLOP jumped awkwardly and lost ground and then raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages.
From the outside barrier, STARSHIP EIGHTY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the 500 Metres, STARSHIP EIGHTY was held up for clear running behind FLYING GALLOP and did not obtain clear running until passing the 350 Metres when it shifted to the outside of DAILY BEAUTY to do so.
Approaching the winning post, C L Chau (SUPERB DADDY) dropped his right rein.
DAILY BEAUTY raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the race, Apprentice Y L Chung (SMART BEAUTY) stated that, in his opinion, the horse may be better ridden in a more conservative manner in the early stages as it gave ground when placed under pressure in the Straight after being ridden in a forward position.
A veterinary inspection of SMART BEAUTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, M Chadwick (HANG'S CHOICE) stated that, in his opinion, his mount was not suited by the solid early pace of the event and was left without a finishing effort.

Following the race, M L Yeung (RING BELLS) could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection of RING BELLS immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.
DAZZLING FELLOW and SPLENDID STAR were sent for sampling.

Dazzling Fellow quickened nicely when asked for an effort to win going away 200m out after a patient ride one off from worse than midfield for a maiden success at his 15th start. He appeared to relish the wet track but will need to lift on his past form in Class Four when next stepping out. Favourite Splendid Star finished well to easily take second from midfield but was no match for the winner. He was able to add to some good late season form for his new trainer. Superb Daddy came from near last to grab a placing 100m out. He's always a chance in this grade. Star Of Glory kept on all right after a one-out, oneback run. He was well rated on a win last season off a higher mark. Punted late Starship Eighty came from last and widest out to finish next best. It was one of his better efforts. Leather Master made some ground without threatening after making his run five back and on the fence. It was an improved effort following a downgrade. Daily Beauty made some progress late after biding his time wide toward the rear. He needed the run.
