Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (10) - TAI MO SHAN HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters
PRIME MINISTER jumped only fairly.
HANDSOME TWELVE lay in under pressure in the Home Straight.
After the race, L Hewitson (FLAMING RABBIT) reported that his mount travelled comfortably in the lead, but felt "flat" when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
Trainer D J Whyte stated that he will now freshen up FLAMING RABBIT prior to its next race start.
A veterinary inspection of FLAMING RABBIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of FLAMING RABBIT was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, FLAMING RABBIT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Also after the race, L Ferraris (SAUVESTRE) could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection of SAUVESTRE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Following the race, K Teetan (WINNER METHOD) reported that his mount raced too keenly outside the lead and as a consequence was unable to finish the race off.

THE GOLDEN SCENERY and FIND MY LOVE were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:

After the running of Race 5, the track classification was officially changed from "Yielding" to "Good to Yielding" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 5 being run on a track rated "Good to Yielding" SUMMARY:

The Golden Scenery kept finding to beat favourite Find My Love after surging to the lead near the 200m following a handy run with cover. He returned a rejuvenated runner after coming away with minor cheques in 11 of 14 starts last term. Find My Love ran on well from better than midfield to finish a close second. It was a good run after finding his niche late last season. Super Sunny Sing ran on nicely to finish a close third from behind midfield. It was a solid run first-up for 175 days. Punted late Galaxy Witness ran on reasonably well to finish next best after a wide with cover run from midfield. It was a typical performance. Prime Minster finished nicely with two wider out to nearly fill the frame after a patient ride at the rear of the field. He ran with merit but is better suited in Class Three. Nearly Fine ran on without threatening from behind midfield. He requires a longer trip and prefers the Valley. Flaming Rabbit tamely faded over the final 150m after getting pestered for the front by Winner Method. He couldn't lift carrying top weight.
