Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (797) - KAU SAI CHAU HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters
BRAVEHEARTS was slow to begin On jumping, CALIFORNIA TEN was crowded between AMAZING VICTORY and A PAL, both of which shifted ground.
Also on jumping, HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE was crowded between SAUVESTRE and CHANCHENG PRINCE which shifted in.
GALAXY WITNESS and FLYING ACE jumped only fairly.
Near the 1300 Metres, SUPER WIN DRAGON (C L Chau) shifted in when not clear, resulting in AMAZING VICTORY being steadied C L Chau advised that a short distance later he was obliged to correct his mount when he received a call from the rider of FIND MY LOVE and as a result his mount lost momentum at that stage which resulted in AMAZING VICTORY commencing to race keenly and being checked away from the heels of SUPER WIN DRAGON for some distance thereafter.
C L Chau was reprimanded and advised he must ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground and also to ensure that he does not excessively slow the pace once he crosses other runners.
Following this incident, AMAZING VICTORY continued to race keenly through the early and middle stages and near the 900 Metres again was checked away from the heels of SUPER WIN DRAGON.
HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE, which was following and also racing keenly, was then severely checked to avoid AMAZING VICTORY at the 800 Metres.
Following the race, K Teetan (AMAZING VICTORY) reported that his mount raced keenly in the early and middle stages and was left without a finishing effort.
A veterinary inspection of AMAZING VICTORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
EXPLOSIVE WITNESS raced keenly in the middle stages when racing wide and without cover.
For some distance near the 350 Metres, SUPER WIN DRAGON was held up for clear running behind ORIENTAL SMOKE.
CHANCHENG PRINCE raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the race, Z Purton (FLYING ACE) reported that with the pace of the race run slower than standard in the middle stages, his mount raced too keenly and for some distance near the 800 Metres was steadied away from the heels of A PAL.
He added as a result FLYING ACE was unable to finish the race off as well as expected.
A veterinary inspection of FLYING ACE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, K C Leung (A PAL) reported that, in his opinion, his mount did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding??track conditions and as a result did not run on in the Straight.
A veterinary inspection of A PAL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A PAL, FLAMING RABBIT and FIND MY LOVE were sent for sampling.

After drifting in betting, Flaming Rabbit led and kept finding to score rather comfortably from gate nine. The win was overdue after seconds in two prior starts. Find My Love got up for second after a box-seat run. It was another good effort up in class after back-to-back wins. Sauvestre just held on for third after tracking the leader. It was another solid effort carrying more weight from a wide draw following a win. Howdeepisyourlove finished willingly down the outside from near last to just miss a placing after losing ground following interference 800m out. It was a good run carrying top weight trying 1,400m for the first time. Galaxy Witness had his chance but peaked on his move 50m out after a rails run from midfield. He hasn't disgraced but just hasn't been able to take the next step this term. California Ten came from last to finish next best. Fancied to jump favourite, A Pal came up flat after a wide trip with cover from midfield. He failed to lift in a much richer test after a win in Class Three. Early favourite Flying Ace produced only a brief bid upon straightening.
