Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (795) - GRASS ISLAND HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
On jumping, A AMERIC TE SPECSO was checked when crowded between MARK THE MOMENT and KEEP YOU WARM which jumped awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.
In this incident, MARK THE MOMENT was bumped by the hindquarters of A AMERIC TE SPECSO and became unbalanced.
EXCELLENT FIGHTER jumped awkwardly.
STREET SCREAM and PULSAR STRIDER bumped shortly after the start.
KOKUSHI MUSOU raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
After the race, Z Purton (MARK THE MOMENT) stated that his mount raced "flat?? failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection of MARK THE MOMENT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of MARK THE MOMENT was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, MARK THE MOMENT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of SUPER FORTUNE, Trainer A S Cruz stated that, in his opinion, SUPER FORTUNE was advantaged by being able to lead in a race run slower than standard time in the early stages and also appreciated racing on the "Good to Yielding??track conditions.
A veterinary inspection of EXCELLENT FIGHTER immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, EXCELLENT FIGHTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
EXCELLENT FIGHTER, SUPER FORTUNE and SOLID SHALAA were sent for sampling.

Specked late, Super Fortune led and kept finding after turning the final bend two lengths on top to ring up a first win from 11 starts this term. It was a return to form on his recent work after disappointing in recent runs. Solid Shalaa ran on nicely from behind midfield to finish a close second. He's heading in the right direction and should be winning shortly. Punted late, Pulsar Strider stayed on for a placing after a pace-stalking run. It was another good effort after back-to-back wins. Favourite Excellent Fighter ran on steadily without threatening the top three after a one-off run from midfield. He was a bit flat. A Americ Te Specso zipped home late near the inside from last to finish next best. It was a typical performance. Toronado Phantom ran on without menacing after a patient ride second last from the widest draw. All Are Mine produced a decent kick late down the outside after a wide trip behind midfield. It was a positive effort. Second favourite Mark The Moment was eased down over the last 150m after failing to lift when asked for an effort following a one-out, one-back run.
