Recap by phillip woo
Odds-on favourite Whizz Kid was too good despite having to work hard to lead 800m out from the widest gate in the seven-horse field. He's now won three of 10 starts and remains perfect in two runs over this Valley trip. Special M stayed on a clear-cut second without menacing the winner after a box-seat run. He continued his fine form over this Valley trip. Rising From Ashes finished nicely to grab a placing after travelling midfield in the small field. He's naturally showing progress in his four starts. Massive Action ran on steadily to fill the frame travelling behind midfield. He's shown flashes of ability in his four starts and will surely appeal to punters with Class Four looming large. Forte made some ground to just miss a top-four spot after travelling last following a tardy break. It was another honest effort at this level. Harmony Fire made the winner work early on but faded over the final 150m after tracking the speed for the most part. He continues his struggles carrying big weights. Diamond Brilliant never got in on the act travelling one from the rear. He's still trying to find his mark after a second-up win and is better suited over the 1,200m.
