Recap by phillip woo
Raging favourite Stoltz edged clear to win comfortably after punching the breeze in front outside Special M for a second straight win despite top weight. He's done very little wrong in his four starts and can hold his own up in grade off a light weight. Special M made Stoltz work holding the fence pressing the pace but couldn't match the winner in the run to the wire. He's having a good campaign. Like That eventually got going after a one-off run fore of midfield to overhaul Lyrical Motion for a placing. He's itching for a return to Class Four. Lyrical Motion stayed on all right after a rails run in midfield. It was a positive effort on debut. Newcomer Big Happiness only got by a pair of struggling rivals from near the rear. He needed the run. Northern Dragon weakened after chasing the speed three deep without cover. He had an excuse but hasn't been able to step up in his past three starts after nearly causing a boilover first-up on the dirt this term. Turin Warrior never made an impression from the rear of the field. He's still acclimatising and needs a longer trip.
