Recap by phillip woo

Raging favourite Sky Field came from near last after a sluggish start to run down Keep You Warm 100m out for a third straight win from five starts. He did enough to get the win and the future remains very bright. Keep You Warm wouldn't go down without a fight after reclaiming the lead from Hongkong Great rounding the final bend following a oneoff run. The three-year-old showed progress after a stable change late last season and appears to have benefited from the break. Punted late Take What You Need only held his ground following a box-seat run. He's honest but has trouble winning. High Rise Soldier made only a mild bid following a one-off run in a handy spot. He was on the verge of breaking through last season and appeared to need this run. Master Albert made some ground without menacing from the back. He rarely produces a bad run but does appear from his three starts this term to be on his mark.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (69) - SHANGHAI HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

POWER KING was withdrawn on 29.9.20 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left front suspensory pain).

Before being allowed to race again, POWER KING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On jumping, MASTER ALBERT was bumped by HONGKONG GREAT which shifted in.

A short distance after the start, MASTER ALBERT was then crowded for room between HONGKONG GREAT and HIGH RISE SOLDIER, both of which shifted ground.

After travelling a short distance, MOERAKI and KEEP YOU WARM bumped.

Passing the 950 Metres, HIGH RISE SOLDIER and TAKE WHAT YOU NEED bumped.

Approaching the 800 Metres, HIGH RISE SOLDIER, which was travelling keenly and was proving difficult to settle, was steadied away from the heels of KEEP YOU WARM (A Badel) which shifted in when not properly clear.

A Badel was reprimanded and advised that whilst the Stewards accepted that the racing manners of HIGH RISE SOLDIER had contributed to this incident, nonetheless he has an obligation to ensure that his mounts are sufficiently clear of other runners prior to shifting ground.

MASTER ALBERT, which was following HIGH RISE SOLDIER, was awkwardly placed behind that horse in consequence.

After the 850 Metres, MOERAKI was left racing wide and without cover.

Passing the 700 Metres, HIGH RISE SOLDIER continued to travel keenly and got its head up when racing close to the heels of KEEP YOU WARM.

At the entrance to the Straight, MOERAKI became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by HIGH RISE SOLDIER which shifted out when awkwardly placed behind KEEP YOU WARM.

In this incident, HIGH RISE SOLDIER also became unbalanced and remained awkwardly placed behind KEEP YOU WARM.

In the Straight, SKY FIELD lay in and proved difficult to ride over the concluding stages and near the 75 Metres shifted in, resulting in KEEP YOU WARM being inconvenienced.

SKY FIELD and KEEP YOU WARM were sent for sampling.
