Recap by phillip woo
Raging favourite Pegasus Glory advanced nicely to grab victory passing the 100m following a prominent run. He backed up a good debut effort for a win here and was suited by the rise in distance but the race had little depth. Gintoki just wore down Whiskey Neat for second after being hustled to hold the rail spot up with the leaders. It was his best run to date but he did show progress from the training grounds. Whiskey Neat grudgingly gave way after working hard to lead one off with pressure coming from both sides of him. He was sharper for a run on opening day. Newcomer Run Run Good came with a nice run from the rear of the field at the head of the straight to just snatch fourth from another newcomer Marvelous Fans. Marvelous Fans came up one-paced over the final 50m after getting going in the straight run from behind midfield. It was a positive debut effort. Hurricane Kunde made ground late without menacing from near last.
