Recap by phillip woo
Odds-on favourite Golden Sixty won going away passing the 200m after peeling into the open 280m out travelling third last worse than midfield to up his remarkable record to seven wins from eight starts. He relished the light weight with the step up in class but is destined for better things. Fat Turtle came on nicely after making his run one off in midfield to finish a clear-cut second. He continues to raise his game despite a rise in class and distance. Champion's Way surged late down the outside to fill a placing. It was a glimpse of his better form after disappointing in his opening two starts this term. Encouraging gave way 100m out after assuming the lead from Ka Ying Star 300m out in a pace-pressing role. Ka Ying Star gradually faded after holding the fence on the lead. He's likely better suited at a mile and might not have much upside off his current mark. Season's Bloom never ran on but did cop a check back to last at the 700m by the eventual winner.
