Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (303) - FLAME TREE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
HELLO BEAUTY was withdrawn on 31.12.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter CHUNG WAH SPIRIT (T H So).
Before being allowed to race again, HELLO BEAUTY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
AMAZING LUCK shifted in shortly after the start, resulting in DUCKETT'S GROVE being inconvenienced.
On jumping, GO BALLISTIC was bumped by JOLLY HONOUR which was taken out by VINCY which shifted out away from CALIFORNIA DADDY which began awkwardly.
From wide barriers, I DO and CHARITY GO were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From the outside barrier, EZRA (G van Niekerk) was steadied shortly after the start to obtain cover.
After travelling a short distance, G van Niekerk adjusted his left foot in the stirrup iron.
PACKING WARRIOR had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
At the 300 Metres, UNIVERSAL GO GO was shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIA DADDY after being disappointed for a run inside that horse.
When UNIVERSAL GO GO was shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIA DADDY, CHARITY GO was directed to the inside of that horse.
Passing the 200 Metres, SMART PATCH shifted out abruptly.
Throughout the race, GO BALLISTIC travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of CHARITY GO, Trainer C S Shum stated that as he had been disappointed with the horse's recent runs, he sent it to Conghua for the first time this season.
He said when in that training facility, CHARITY GO had done particularly well.
He said as CHARITY GO had not been performing in its races of late, he decided to remove the hood from the horse's gear and reapplied the shadow roll and to have the horse ridden more quietly from the wide barrier to see if it would be able to finish off the race better than it had been.
He added, in his opinion, these factors had all played a part in the horse's improved performance today.
A veterinary inspection of AMAZING LUCK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PACKING WARRIOR, CHARITY GO and SMART PATCH were sent for sampling.

29 December 2019 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 8 (291) C Schofield (EVERYONE'S JOY) and K Teetan (FALCON TURBO) were each fined $2,000 for failing to present themselves in the Parade Ring by the required time.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 29 December 2019 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of RICH AND LUCKY, KING DRAGON, MASTER BERNINI, KEEP WINNING, SUPER RED DRAGON, FORTUNE BRILLIANT, HERO STAR, THIS ONE'S FOR YOU, CLEAR CHOICE, BEST ALLIANCE, SHINING GEM, BALTIC SUCCESS, MIGHTY GIANT, FANTASTIC SHOW, THANKS FOREVER, BIG PARTY, BIG TIME BABY, EVERYONE'S JOY, FALCON TURBO, MONGOLIAN KING, GLORIOUS ARTIST, ELUSIVE STATE, RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE, LAST KINGDOM and TRAVEL FIRST revealed no apparent abnormality.

Charity Go came with a ducking-and-weaving run from last at the 400m to snatch victory from Smart Patch on the wire. All credit to first day rider Tony Piccone, who has been able to boot him home after seven other riders failed in 13 prior starts. Early favourite Smart Patch did everything right but get the win after leading below the 300m following a speed-chasing win. A win is not far away for him in this grade. Enzemble got up after a deep run behind midfield with cover to grab a placing at massive odds in his best run to date at his fifth start. Plunged late California Daddy gradually faded after punching the breeze in second outside Amazing Luck. He's coming along nicely in his two starts. Posttime favourite Packing Warrior ran on steadily without menacing from midfield. It was another honest effort but he keeps finding a few too good. I Do ran on without threatening after going back from a wide gate. He's produced mixed results this term.
