Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (296) - CHINESE BANYAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
EVEN KEEL began awkwardly and then lost ground when bumped by TOTAL POWER which shifted out.
TEAM FORTUNE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped MIGHTY POWER which was crowded for room inside LOCKHEED which also shifted in.
After initially being ridden along from a wide barrier, FRESH POWER was steadied near the 1100 Metres to obtain a position with cover.
Approaching the 900 Metres, LOCKHEED and JUST NOT LISTENING bumped.
Passing the 900 Metres, MIGHTY POWER was crowded for room between GREEN REIGN which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MONKEY JEWELLERY and SUPER WEALTHY (A Badel) which shifted in when not properly clear.
A Badel was reprimanded and advised to exercise due care when shifting ground.
Making the first turn after the 900 Metres, DIAMOND PEGASUS got its head on the side and lay out and near the 850 Metres bumped with LOCKHEED which was shifting in.
DIAMOND PEGASUS continued to lay out making the turns.
MONKEY JEWELLERY lost its left hind plate passing the 800 Metres.
Near the 750 Metres, MONKEY JEWELLERY commenced to travel keenly and lost ground when checked away from the heels of LOCKHEED.
When MONKEY JEWELLERY was checked, GREEN REIGN, which was following, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse and in doing so bumped MIGHTY POWER.
Near the 650 Metres, MIGHTY POWER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER WEALTHY.
Approaching the 500 Metres, LOCKHEED raced in restricted room between JUST NOT LISTENING and DIAMOND PEGASUS which continued to lay out and made the Home Turn awkwardly.

Rounding the Home Turn, MIGHTY POWER and GREEN REIGN raced tight as GREEN REIGN improved to the outside of MONKEY JEWELLERY.
At the entrance to the Straight, GREEN REIGN raced tight between MIGHTY POWER and MONKEY JEWELLERY which drifted out.
FRESH POWER was held up for a run in the early part of the Straight and approaching the 300 Metres was directed to the outside of runners to obtain clear running.
Passing the 400 Metres, DIAMOND PEGASUS lay out and brushed LOCKHEED.
DIAMOND PEGASUS then shifted in, resulting in INVINCIBLE MISSILE, which was improving to its inside, becoming unbalanced when crowded for room.
Near the 350 Metres, GREEN REIGN became unbalanced after being crowded for room between MIGHTY POWER and MONKEY JEWELLERY (G van Niekerk) which shifted out before bring corrected by its rider.
In this incident, MIGHTY POWER became unbalanced when bumped by GREEN REIGN.
G van Niekerk was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he is properly clear of runners prior to shifting ground.
TEAM FORTUNE was shifted out away from the heels of DIAMOND PEGASUS passing the 350 Metres.
After the 200 Metres, INVINCIBLE MISSILE momentarily raced in restricted room inside LOCKHEED.
A veterinary inspection of MONKEY JEWELLERY immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, MONKEY JEWELLERY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SUPER WEALTHY and INVINCIBLE MISSILE were sent for sampling.

Favourite Super Wealthy took control 200m out after a wide and without cover run in midfield to open his win account. He was able to build on a smart debut effort last month and there's clearly more to come from him. Invincible Missile got up near the inside to grab second 50m out. He relished a step back to the 1,200m. Lockheed found a couple too good after hitting the front 400m out chasing the speed. Outsider Total Power came from worse than midfield to finish a distant fourth. It was a much-improved effort second- up. Fresh Power finished well after settling third last from a wide gate. It was a better effort with a step back to a winning distance at his second run in the grade. Green Reign ran on all right despite being tight for room between runners 400m out following a two-to-three deep run behind midfield. Monkey Jewellery came up flat rounding the final bend three deep in midfield after getting hampered near the 700m.
