Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Rise High steadily wore down Rivet 150m out following a one-out, one-back run to make it three on the trot. He's going places and will be a force to be reckoned with over the 1,600m or even 1,800m next term. Rivet held on well for second following a change of tactics to lead. He clearly has ability and might be able to show his true colours with a season under his belt. Jolly Banner stayed on a distant third following a box-seat run. He's got limited upside off his current mark but does appreciate performing fresh. Doctor Geoff gradually faded after stalking the speed. He likely prefers a faster surface. Joyful Trinity made some ground without menacing after settling midfield on the fence. He's a quality type when right but has had an injury prone campaign. Romantic Touch picked off some stragglers after drifting back to last approaching the final bend. He's had a lot of hard racing of late and a break is much needed.
