Punted late Elusive State came from midfield to take control 80m out for a second win from three starts in July. He's usually better on the dirt but did appear to relish the wettrack conditions. Outsider Investor Boom closed well to grab second following a rails run behind midfield. It was his best run to date from five starts but the wet track likely helped him. Beauty Day held on gamely for third after rushing forward from a wide gate to lead at the 800m. He's certainly flashed potential in his six starts and should be winning races next season. Favourite Have Fun Together still came on well to fill a Quartet spot despite blowing the start and getting no clear run until the 250m. He has been threatening all season long without winning and it's only a matter of time before he salutes. Golden Four ran on without menacing after settling fourth from the rear from a bad gate. He's run well in defeat in his five outings and will be winning next season.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (801) - BIG PROFIT HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

HAVE FUN TOGETHER stood flat-footed at the start and consequently lost a significant amount of ground.

Before being allowed to race again, HAVE FUN TOGETHER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.

IMPECCABLE ONE shifted in at the start and bumped LONDON HALL.

DEJA VU was crowded for room on jumping between INVESTOR BOOM and BEAUTY DAY which shifted in.

In this incident, INVESTOR BOOM became unbalanced after being bumped by DEJA VU.

From wide barriers, SWEETIE BARLEY and GOLDEN FOUR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 900 Metres, RUN MOOCHI was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of RAICHU.

SPLIT OF A SECOND lost its right front plate after the 900 Metres.

THE CREATETH had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

HAVE FUN TOGETHER was held up for clear running until passing the 350 Metres at which time the horse was shifted to the outside of runners.

Near the 150 Metres, SWEETIE BARLEY was momentarily steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN FOUR which shifted in under pressure.

After the race, N Callan reported that SPLIT OF A SECOND gave ground abruptly after entering the Straight and he therefore eased it down over the concluding stages.

A veterinary inspection of SPLIT OF A SECOND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, SPLIT OF A SECOND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After the race, T Berry stated that IMPECCABLE ONE, which was having its first race start today, did not feel comfortable in its action in the early stages.

He said after riding IMPECCABLE ONE along, the horse's action deteriorated after the 1100 Metres and for this reason he eased it down near the 900 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of IMPECCABLE ONE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
