Recap by phillip woo

Otouto got up 100m out after a dream run to open his win account. He had been threatening in a few of his recent runs in this grade so victory came as no shock. Firming favourite Exponents gave a good sight in front leading one off outside the winner to finish a clear-cut second. He's really found his legs in recent runs. Dynamic Lions closed off reasonably well from beyond midfield to fill a placing. He has been knocking on the door without winning at this level. Multimax just wasn't up to the task after pressing the speed from a wide gate. He's in the right grade and should get away with a race next season - he certainly has the potential to win at this level. Laugh Out Loud made some ground from midfield without threatening. Happy Happy stuck on reasonably well following a handy run. He kept on all right following a setback.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (798) - MR AWARD HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters

On arrival at the Start, J Moreira expressed concern regarding the action of SUPERIOR BOY.

SUPERIOR BOY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion the horse was lame in its left front leg and as such was not suitable to race.

Acting on this advice, SUPERIOR BOY was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, SUPERIOR BOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

LAUGH OUT LOUD began only fairly.

DYNAMIC LIONS was crowded for room on jumping between WINNING BOY and HAPPY HAPPY which was taken out by COUR VALANT.

From wide barriers, DOCTORS DELIGHT and THE CHAMP were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Despite being hard ridden in the early stages, UNIQUE JOYFUL failed to muster speed.

Passing the 600 Metres, DYNAMIC LIONS and DOCTORS DELIGHT raced tight.

Approaching the 200 Metres, S Clipperton (COUR VALANT) dropped his whip.

Passing the 200 Metres, HAPPY HAPPY shifted in under pressure, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten.

CREME BRULEE, which gave ground abruptly rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, was retired out of the race at the 300 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of CREME BRULEE immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

OTOUTO and EXPONENTS were sent for sampling.
