Recap by phillip woo

Raging favourite Little Bird held the fence on the lead from Very Sweet Orange to his outside, moved a length clear coming to the final bend and coasted home well in hand in a good time on a fast surface. . Lunar Zephyr stayed on well for second following a boxseat run. He's an honest sprinter but has trouble winning. Sensationally-backed Lightning Treasure made some ground from behind midfield to fill a placing. He's heading in the right direction with placings in his past two of three sprints. Multimax just held his ground after rushing forward from a wide gate to settle one off in third. Prefer him in Class Five . Precious Sweetie was make ground late after travelling third from the rear. It was a better second-up run but he was only getting by beaten rivals. Very Sweet Orange's pace pressing run was short lived. It was a disappointing following a near win last time out but the three-year-old does have time on his side.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (717) - BEAS RIVER COUNTRY CLUB HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

E MASTER was withdrawn on 9.6.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore).

Before being allowed to race again, E MASTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

LIGHTNING TREASURE began awkwardly.

DOUBLE DOWN was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Near the 900 Metres, MULTIMAX got its head on the side and shifted in away from VERY SWEET ORANGE, resulting in LUNAR ZEPHYR being hampered and taken in marginally.

LUNAR ZEPHYR then got its head on the side and shifted in of its own accord, resulting in LIGHTNING TREASURE becoming unbalanced and losing its running when crowded for room inside LUNAR ZEPHYR.

As the Stewards were satisfied that there was no rider error associated with this incident, no further action was taken.

After the 900 Metres, SUNNY ORIENT was left racing wide and without cover.

Passing the 800 Metres, LONDON MASTER got its head up when being checked away from the heels of LIGHTNING TREASURE.

Passing the 200 Metres, M Chadwick (MULTIMAX) dropped his right rein.

Over the final 200 Metres, PRECIOUS SWEETIE lay in under pressure, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten on a number of occasions.

C Y Ho (DOUBLE DOWN) was severely reprimanded for using the whip on the horse when it was clearly out of contention.

After the race, A Sanna reported that after being placed under pressure in the early part of the Straight, LONDON MASTER became unbalanced in its action and, in his opinion, was not stretching out fully and for this reason he eased the horse down over the latter stages of the race.

A veterinary inspection of LONDON MASTER immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and was also confirmed to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.

Before being allowed to race again, LONDON MASTER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of VERY SWEET ORANGE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of DOUBLE DOWN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

LITTLE BIRD and LUNAR ZEPHYR were sent for sampling.
