Recap by phillip woo

Hero Time edged clear after dashing to the lead 250m out following a midfield run to open his win account at start four. He's open to further improvement and should get further in time. California Aspar just held off Golden Glory by a whisker for second after chasing the leader First Beaut. He pops up now and then. Specked late Golden Glory nearly got up for second despite a tough run fore of midfield without cover from a wide gate. He's been racing very well over this Valley trip this season. Favourite Clear Choice ran on late without menacing to take fourth after getting shuffled back by Master Viking to travel beyond midfield coming to the final bend. Brilliant Dream made some ground without ever looking a chance travelling fourth from the rear. He's more effective at Sha Tin. Numero Uno ran on without menacing near the inside after settling third last from an outside draw. He's one to keep safe from a better gate.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (479) - PALM HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

NASHASHUK, which was restless in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and lost ground.

MASTER VIKING and BRILLIANT DREAM bumped at the start.

From wide barriers, HAPPY SURVEYS and NUMERO UNO were shifted across behind runners soon after the start.

When racing tight inside HAPPY BAO BEI (B Prebble) making the first turn near the 1000 Metres, MASTER VIKING got its head up, shifted out towards the heels of HAPPY BAO BEI and was checked.

CLEAR CHOICE, which was following MASTER VIKING, shifted in when awkwardly placed behind that horse, resulting in BRILLIANT DREAM being checked.

NASHASHUK, which was trailing BRILLIANT DREAM, and NUMERO UNO, which was racing to the outside of that horse, were both checked in consequence.

Whilst this incident was one of some significance, the Stewards were satisfied that the racing manners of MASTER VIKING were the primary cause of the incident.

Nonetheless, B Prebble was advised to ensure that he allows runners to his inside comfortable racing room.

Approaching the 200 Metres, BRILLIANT DREAM was awkwardly placed when attempting to improve into tight running between HAPPY BAO BEI and CALIFORNIA ASPAR.

Throughout the race, GOLDEN GLORY travelled wide and without cover.

CLEAR CHOICE, HERO TIME and CALIFORNIA ASPAR were sent for sampling.
