Recap by phillip woo

Odds-on choice Har Har Heart came through along the inside following a box-seat run to take control 100m out for a third win over this Valley trip this term. He should be able to hold his own off a light weight in Class Three. The Judge kept on gamely for second after taking off from the back at the 800m to sit three deep in third coming to the final bend. He's come right in back-to-back Class Fours and might be ready to handle a return to Class Three now off a light weight. Association Fans finished nicely near the inside to spice up the tierce after travelling second from the rear. Money Winner kept on all right to fill a Quartet spot after strolling forward to face the breeze in second at the 1,200m. Win For Charity was on his tippy toes 100m out after dictating the run. He's won twice already this campaign and may be on or near his mark. Specked late Charity Wings had a tough run travelling beyond midfield without cover and can be forgiven for this run.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (480) - THE ROTARY CENTENARY CHALLENGE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1650Meters

OPEN HOUSE was withdrawn on 6.3.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter CHARITY WINGS (Apprentice M F Poon).

Before being allowed to race again, OPEN HOUSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On jumping, CHARITY WINGS was steadied when crowded for room between MONEY WINNER and NEVER BETTER which shifted in.

From wide barriers, NEVER BETTER, THE JUDGE and ASSOCIATION FANS were all steadied soon after the start and shifted across behind runners.

Despite being hard ridden in the early stages, both MR KOOL and CONTRIBUTION failed to muster speed.

MR KOOL lost its left front plate approaching the winning post on the first occasion.

Approaching the 1200 Metres, THE JUDGE was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of CHARITY WINGS which got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of MEGA TREASURE.

When THE JUDGE shifted out, NEVER BETTER was hampered and taken wider.

At the 450 Metres, CONTRIBUTION (K C Ng) had to be checked when attempting to improve between HAR HAR HEART and SPINNING DANCER where there was insufficient room.

In this incident, CONTRIBUTION made contact with SPINNING DANCER which became unbalanced.

MR KOOL, which was following, was also hampered.

K C Ng was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care and judgement when attempting to improve his position.

In the early part of the Straight, MR KOOL got its head on the side and was reluctant to shift out from behind SPINNING DANCER.

Approaching and passing the 50 Metres, MONEY WINNER raced tight inside THE JUDGE which shifted in under pressure before being corrected by its rider.

After the race, D Whyte reported that HERO LOOK did not feel comfortable in its action and as he felt that there may have been something amiss with the horse, he did not test it over the concluding stages.

A veterinary inspection of HERO LOOK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HAR HAR HEART and THE JUDGE were sent for sampling.
