Debutant Top Beautiful jumped alertly and drew clear for a convincing. He won well and appears to have plenty more to come. He should also get a further trip as well. Peace Combination shared the lead and held on gamely to finish a clear second. He has been consistent without winning over this trip but is likely near a bottom. Brave Knight kept grinding away following a handy run to snare a placing. He's gone better in his past two over this trip and will be a live chance if he can work his way into Class Five. Multigogo made a steady bid from midfield after copping a bump soon after the break to just miss a placing. It was a positive effort sporting first-time blinkers and might soon be able to get away with a race. Newcomer Lucky Lucky pressed forward to be a part of the leading group after jumping outwards at the break but found nothing when push came to shove as the favourite. He looks and feels a better type but may need a bit of education.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (1) - HARCOURT HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters

SHARPMIND began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped MY HONEY, causing MY HONEY and MAGICAL CHAMPION to be badly crowded for room between SHARPMIND and MULTIGOGO which shifted in after bumping TOURBILLON KING on jumping.

A short distance later, MAGICAL CHAMPION and MY HONEY were severely checked when they remained crowded for room between MULTIGOGO which became unbalanced and lay in after being bumped on the hindquarters by MAGICAL CHAMPION and SHARPMIND which, after initially shifting out of its own accord, was then taken out further by LUCKY LUCKY (N Rawiller) which shifted out.

N Rawiller was advised that whilst there were a number of circumstances associated with this incident and notwithstanding that he had made an effort to correct LUCKY LUCKY, in the opinion of the Stewards, he should have reacted quicker to his mount shifting ground and he was therefore severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Over the final 100 Metres, WINFULL PATROL lay out under pressure.

When questioned regarding the performance of LUCKY LUCKY, which was having its first race start, N Rawiller stated that based on its track work and a trial leading into this race when ridden by him, it was anticipated that LUCKY LUCKY would perform well today.

He said after beginning awkwardly and becoming unbalanced, LUCKY LUCKY did not travel comfortably in the early stages of the race and it was not until after the 700 Metres that the horse commenced to travel strongly.

He said passing the 500 Metres the pace of the race quickened and LUCKY LUCKY immediately came under pressure.

He said after this LUCKY LUCKY did not travel well, became unbalanced on a number of occasions and was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to close off the race.

A veterinary inspection of LUCKY LUCKY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that MULTIGOGO had sustained a small wound to the outside of the left knee.

LUCKY LUCKY, TOP BEAUTIFUL and PEACE COMBINATION were sent for sampling.
