Recap by phillip woo

Backing up quickly off a weekend run, Harbour Master settled midfield in the run and responded nicely when pulling out for a clear run 150m out to swallow them up in the shadows of the post. He was suited by the return to the Valley with Joao Moreira hopping on board. Super Lifeline was eye-balled for the lead by Basic Trilogy after easily clearing to the front from a tricky gate and stayed on gamely to hold second. He's run well in back-to-back runs following a switch to the Valley and the use of a claimer's allowance may help him get away with a race off a lightweight. Basic Trilogy pressed the leader from the outset from a wide gate, poked his head in front at the 250m and wouldn't go away without a fight. From a proper gate, he's a winner waiting to happen over a mil or 1,800m at either course. Favourite Sichuan Dar wasn't going well enough when hampered by the eventual winner at the 150m. Twin Delight was a non-factor when ridden for luck after a tardy break.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (136)-THE HONG KONG COUNTRY CLUB CHALLENGE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 1 - 1650Metres

JUN HUO was withdrawn on 25.10.16 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore left front tendon).

Before being allowed to race again, JUN HUO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On arrival at the Start, AMBITIOUS CHAMPION had its right front plate refitted.

AMBITIOUS CHAMPION was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

Just prior to the start being effected, TWIN DELIGHT became very fractious and then was slow to begin, resulting in the horse settling back in the field.

HELENE SUPER STAR began awkwardly.

From the outside barrier, SERGEANT TITANIUM was steadied shortly after the start and shifted across behind runners.

Approaching the 800 Metres, SERGEANT TITANIUM shifted out to improve and subsequently raced wide and without cover.

AMBITIOUS CHAMPION shifted out at the entrance to the Straight and bumped ALL YOU WISH.

Shortly after entering the Straight, HARBOUR MASTER was awkwardly placed outside the heels of HELENE SUPER STAR when racing tight inside SICHUAN DAR which got its head on the side and shifted in.

Approaching the 100 Metres, SICHUAN DAR was steadied away from the heels of HARBOUR MASTER (J Moreira) which shifted out into clear running.

J Moreira was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground in future.

After the race, C Y Ho (SICHUAN DAR) stated that the horse was not able to quicken when the tempo of the race increased approaching the Home Turn.

He said, in his opinion, SICHUAN DAR is better suited in races which are run in a more genuine tempo than that of tonight's event.

A veterinary inspection of SICHUAN DAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of ALL YOU WISH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SICHUAN DAR, HARBOUR MASTER and SUPER LIFELINE were sent for sampling.
