Favourite Healthy Joyful let down well to get up 60m out for the win despite being held up in the box-seat early straight. He's run well in both outings for his new trainer this term and should remain competitive off a lightweight in a higher grade. Molly's Jade Star assumed the lead 220m out following a one-off run on the back of the speed and found one too good in the end for an amazing eighth time from 16 starts. Hard Ball Get finished strongly after travelling one from the rear to make it close for second. His training had improved on a first-up run over the 1,200m and he will be winning shortly, either off a lightweight in this grade or down in Class Four. Aerospeed showed a good turn of foot yet again to come from near the back to snatch fourth. He's run well in both outings from outside gates and should be saluting when he draws a proper gate.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (110)-SWALLOW HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Metres

LOOK ERAS began awkwardly and then was crowded for room on jumping between DEJA VU and MOLLY'S JADE STAR, both of which shifted ground.

After this, LOOK ERAS was shifted across behind runners.

ENDEARING was crowded for room on jumping between PEOPLE'S KNIGHT which shifted out after beginning awkwardly and HARD BALL GET which shifted in.

After this, HARD BALL GET was steadied and shifted across behind runners.

WINFIELD began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped BEAUTY FLARE, resulting in WINFIELD losing ground.

From the outside barrier, AEROSPEED was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Passing the 1300 Metres, WINFIELD raced in restricted room inside BEAUTY FLARE which got its head on the side and lay in despite the efforts of its rider.

Approaching the 1100 Metres, FIVE UP HIGH shifted out and was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of HEALTHY JOYFUL.

MARVEL HERO, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence.

Approaching the 1000 Metres, FIVE UP HIGH commenced to prove very difficult to settle and was checked away from the heels of DEJA VU.

Then making the turn passing the 900 Metres, FIVE UP HIGH shifted out away from the heels of DEJA VU, resulting in MARVEL HERO being checked away from the heels of FIVE UP HIGH.

ENDEARING, which was racing outside FIVE UP HIGH, was directed out due to the racing manners of FIVE UP HIGH.

After this, ENDEARING was allowed to improve its position into the lead and MARVEL HERO was taken into a position very wide and without cover by WINFIELD which shifted to the outside of DEJA VU.

Approaching the 500 Metres, WINFIELD and MARVEL HERO raced tight.

Then a short distance after this, WINFIELD was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FIVE UP HIGH.

Rounding the Home Turn, METALLIC STAR and MOLLY'S JADE STAR raced tight and bumped as METALLIC STAR improved into tight running between ENDEARING and MOLLY'S JADE STAR.

WINFIELD had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

HEALTHY JOYFUL was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.

Approaching the 350 Metres, METALLIC STAR was awkwardly placed outside the heels of ENDEARING which shifted out under pressure.

M L Yeung (DEJA VU) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 250 Metres he failed to make sufficient endeavour to prevent his mount from shifting out when not clear of WINFIELD, resulting in that horse having to be checked and losing the running to which it was rightfully entitled.

M L Yeung was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 23 October 2016 and to expire on Thursday, 27 October 2016 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

In addition, M L Yeung was fined $15,000.

Approaching the 200 Metres, FIVE UP HIGH, MARVEL HERO and MODERN TSAR all raced tight between DEJA VU and AEROSPEED, both of which shifted ground.

After the race, D Whyte was dislodged from MODERN TSAR without incident.

When questioned regarding the performance of WINFIELD, Z Purton stated that he was not able to obtain clear running in the early part of the Straight and when the run presented itself between DEJA VU and FIVE UP HIGH after the 300 Metres, WINFIELD commenced to improve into the run only fairly.

He said he then had to check WINFIELD passing the 250 Metres which resulted in the horse losing any momentum that it had.

He said he was not able to say how well WINFIELD would have finished off the race, however, at the time that the interference occurred, WINFIELD was not travelling strongly.

A veterinary inspection of WINFIELD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HEALTHY JOYFUL and MOLLY'S JADE STAR were sent for sampling.
