Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (731) - VIOLET HILL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 WINGS OF WAR (H162) H Bentley Between the 250 Metres and the 200 Metres raced tight between MEGA BONUS and KA YING CHEER which shifted out.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 JOYFUL HUNTER (H198) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.
After the race, C Y Ho reported that his mount resented the kickback during the running of the event and would derive benefit from tonight's performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" Horse No 4 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) Z Purton Jumped only fairly and was then crowded by WINGS OF WAR which shifted out.
Horse No 6 CALIFORNIA TOUCH (J051) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 MEGA BONUS (E184) L Ferraris After the race, L Ferraris stated that from the outside barrier and his mount up in grade tonight, it did not travel well during the event and was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, MEGA BONUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 11 KA YING CHEER (H369) A Badel For some distance after the 300 Metres was held up when being shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIA TOUCH to obtain clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 EXUBERANT (E282) Y L Chung Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between OUR LUCKY GLORY and KA YING CHEER, both of which shifted ground.
Raced wide and without cover in the middle stages.
Over the final 100 Metres lay in and proved difficult to ride out to the finish of the event.

Addition to Racing Incidents Report of 2 June 2024 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 10 (721) HAPPY DAILY - Trainer C H Yip confirmed the instructions issued.
2.
After the running of Race 1, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Yielding" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 1 being run on a track rated "Good to Yielding"
3.
Racing Laboratory tests of THUNDER BLINK, SANTORINI, SPEEDSTAR, SMART BEAUTY, ILLUMINOUS, AWESOME FLUKE, EIGHTEEN CARAT, BOTTOMUPTOGETHER, AURORA LADY, DIVANO, MASTER MASTERMIND, STORMING DRAGON, FORERUNNER, TOP PEAK, REBEL'S ROMANCE, FIVE G PATCH, BRIGHT INHERITANCE, CALIFORNIATOTALITY, TALENTS AMBITION, LITTLE BROSE, CALL ME GLORIOUS, TOP GUN, NEVER TOO SOON and HUGE WAVE (26.5.24) proved negative.

Punted late, California Touch just scrambled in from Ka Ying Cheer after working to the lead at the 150m for a second win from his past four starts following a switch to the Valley 1,200m. He will remain in the grade and can win again. Ka Ying Cheer made it close on the wire after switching off heels for a clear run 150m out following a box-seat run. He has been close in six of his past seven starts to build on a debut win at Sha Tin. A Americ Te Specso zipped home late through the middle to grab third 50m out after making his run early on at the rear. It was another honest effort. Armour Eagle ran on steadily along the inside for fourth after making his run five back on the fence. He has been out of form but is well rated on the back of a win in December. Firming favourite Wings Of War ran on steadily to finish next best after settling on the rail in better than midfield. He couldn't lift carrying 11 pounds more following a win. Sugar Sugar peaked on his move near the outside 80m out after settling towards the rear from gate 11. He didn't get the race conditions to suit.
