Race Six : (583) - DONGZHIMEN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 2 BOWSER (H460) A Hamelin After the race, A Hamelin reported that his mount failed to run on in the Home Straight which he stated, in his opinion, may have been due to BOWSER handicapped with additional weight as compared to its last start win and may not have appreciated the "Good to Firm" track condition.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
Horse No 5 KA YING WARRIOR (H028) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 METRO WARRIOR (D387) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 BROTHER CHENG (J046) H T Mo Crowded shortly after the start.
Near the 750 Metres was eased to avoid UNIVERSAL BLAZE which lay out.
Horse No 8 CIRCUIT ELEVEN (G468) M F Poon A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 LUCKY SYMPHONY (J089) A Atzeni Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.
Horse No 10 UNIVERSAL BLAZE (J160) A Badel Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced.
Horse No 11 YODA'S CHOICE (J146) C Y Ho Crowded at the start.

Horse No 13 HELLS BELLS (H280) B Thompson Crowded at the start.
Horse No 14 RUBY SAILING (H347) B Avdulla On jumping was crowded by RUN RUN COOL which was taken out by THE GREAT MASTER and as a result made contact with the hindquarters of UNIVERSAL BLAZE and became unbalanced.
Blundered near the 350 Metres.
Over the final 100 Metres raced tight to the outside of KA YING WARRIOR.

Metro Warrior just held on by a lip in a blanket finish after poking his head in front 50m out following a pace-prompting run near the stands side from gate 13 for a fourth career win over the straight 1,000m. Yoda's Choice ran on strongly to make it very close on the wire after a midfield near the far side from a low draw. The change in course and distance nearly worked the oracle after three progressive Valley 1,200m efforts. Glorious Expert ran on nicely to finish a close third after a prominent run on the stands side. It was a much-improved effort trying the straight 1,000m for the first time. Ruby Sailing made a late bid to finish a close fourth from midfield on the grandstand. He is honest but has trouble winning. Favourite Ka Ying Warrior threw in the towel in the dying stages after cruising to the front 400m out following a speed-tracking run on the stands side. He was first-up off a nosebleed in November. The Great Master gradually faded after being hard ridden to lead from gate seven. He's still learning the ropes.
