Favourite Patch Of Theta kept on gamely after driving through along the inside to lead 150m out following a handy run for a second straight win despite a rise in class. He's got a bright future. Green N White ran on nicely after a wide with cover trip from midfield to win a blanket finish for second. He's a real consistent type. Magnificent Nine ran on nicely to nearly take second after getting posted four wide without cover from behind midfield coming to the final bend. He's a winner waiting to happen. Sunstrider should have finished closer without a clear run over the final 200m following a rails run from behind midfield. It was an eye-catching effort. Righteous Arron made good ground late near the outside to just miss the frame after making his run two from the rear. He rarely produces a bad run at either track. Fun Together grudgingly gave way after poking his head in front 200m out following a wide trip near the speed. Amazing Victory ran on without threatening with one wider out after settling towards the rear from the widest draw.

Horse No 1 AMAZING VICTORY (G123) H Bowman Near the 500 Metres was bumped and taken wider.

Horse No 2 GREEN N WHITE (H186) Z Purton Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 SINBA (H091) J McDonald Bumped at the start.

After the 300 Metres became held up behind FUN TOGETHER for a short distance and did not obtain clear running over the final 150 Metres.

Horse No 8 PATCH OF THETA (H485) K Teetan Bumped at the start.

Horse No 9 BIG RED (H299) L Hewitson A Atzeni (AEROINVINCIBLE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of BIG RED resulting in BIG RED having to be checked.

A Atzeni was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 17 April 2024 and to expire on Sunday, 21 April 2024 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

In addition, Jockey Atzeni was fined $60,000.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his neutral race riding record.

Horse No 12 RIGHTEOUS ARION (H059) M Chadwick Near the 500 Metres was shifted to the outside of MAGNIFICENT NINE and in doing so made contact with AMAZING VICTORY.

Horse No 14 AEROINVINCIBLE (J180) A Atzeni Raced keenly in the early stages and got its head up approaching the 1000 Metres when being crossed by SAKEWIN.

Approaching the 200 Metres, when commencing to give ground, was steadied when crowded between SAKEWIN which shifted out and made slight contact with AEROINVINCIBLE and FUN TOGETHER which shifted in slightly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A Atzeni pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 800 Metres (see BIG RED).

After the running of Race 3, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Firm" for Race 4 onwards..

The Stewards opened an inquiry into K De Melo and L Hewitson having in their possession and wearing a vest of a design not approved by the Stewards.

Both Jockeys De Melo and Hewitson pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 94(4) and were each fined a sum of $30,000.

27 March 2024 Happy Valley Racemeeting The Stewards today inquired into the circumstances which led to SUMMIT IMPACT being a pre-declaration withdrawal on 21 March 2024 from the Happy Valley racemeeting on 27 March 2024 due to inadvertent treatment.

Interviewed was Mr J Richards, trainer of SUMMIT IMPACT, who explained after competing in a barrier trial at Conghua Racecourse on the morning of 21 March 2024, he had instructed his staff to administer an anti-inflammatory to the horse.

Mr Richards was fined the sum of $10,000 in that he directed SUMMIT IMPACT to be inadvertently treated with an anti-inflammatory medication on 21 March 2024.

Before being allowed to race again, SUMMIT IMPACT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
