Race Six: (345) - THE HONG KONG CLUB CHALLENGE CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1650Meters
CLASSIC ARCHI shifted out at the start and bumped STAR CONTACT.
CLASSIC ARCHI was then crowded for room between STAR CONTACT and FLYING SILVER which shifted out.
CLASSIC ARCHI was then steadied and shifted across behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail whilst STAR CONTACT was also steadied to obtain cover.
AI ONE was badly crowded for room on jumping between THETA HEDGE and UNITED ENDEAVORS which shifted in abruptly.
In this incident, THETA HEDGE became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by AI ONE.
AI ONE was then steadied to obtain a position closer to the rail.
From the outside barriers, LUCKY MISSILE and VILLA FIONN were steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion, VILLA FIONN was very awkwardly placed behind CLASSIC ARCHI.
For some distance in the early and middle stages, THETA HEDGE travelled very keenly in the lead.
Near the 850 Metres, LUCKY MISSILE was left racing wide and without cover and passing the 800 Metres was shifted out away from the heels of AI ONE which commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed behind STAR CONTACT.
Passing the 300 Metres, VIVA POPCORN was shifted in away from the heels of YOUNG LIFE FOREVER to obtain clear running.
STAR CONTACT and FLYING SILVER were sent for sampling.

Favourite Star Contact rounded them up 50m out after making his run five back and one off the fence for a well-deserved second win this term after filling the frame in his past four of five starts following a 1,400m success in September. Punted late, Flying Silver found one too good after surging to a narrow lead 150m out following a one-offthe- rail trip from behind midfield. It was another solid effort after back-to-back wins over 1,800m. Young Life Forever ran on nicely from midfield to finish a close third. He has run well in consecutive races following a step up to 1,650m. Viva Popcorn finished next best after a rail run better than midfield. He could not repeat a last-start success following a riding change to a 10-pound claimer. Happy Won plugged away to earn a minor cheque after tracking Theta Hedge one off the fence. It was an improved effort on his opening two starts this term with a switch to the Valley. Villa Fionn ran on without menacing from the rear of the field. He requires a stronger pace. Theta Hedge was on his tippy toes 150m out after getting his own way in front from gate eight. He is a Class Five horse.
