Racing Incident Report
Race Two: (302) - WAI YIP HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
LITTLE PLAYER began very awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of ALLOY KING, resulting in ALLOY KING becoming unbalanced and LITTLE PLAYER losing ground.
TRAVEL GLORY was crowded for room on jumping between WINS ALL and FORTUNE HERO, both of which shifted ground.
After this, when being ridden along to obtain a forward position, FORTUNE HERO lost ground when crowded for room between TRAVEL GLORY and DASHING GENIUS which, after initially shifting out of its own accord, then shifted out away from LORIZ.
From wide barriers, ZACIAN and HEAVENLY THOUGHT were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, WINS ALL and DASHING GENIUS bumped.
Then after the 1000 Metres, WINS ALL, which was racing wide and without cover, was steadied by its rider in an attempt to obtain cover behind DASHING GENIUS.
After briefly obtaining partial cover behind DASHING GENIUS passing the 800 Metres, WINS ALL was again left racing wide and without cover near the 750 Metres.
Passing the 900 Metres, FORTUNE HERO was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of DASHING GENIUS.
Passing the 400 Metres, TRAVEL GLORY raced close to the heels of LITTLE PLAYER.
SHENRON was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight and after the 250 Metres was shifted into tight running to the inside of DAY DAY RICH.
SHENRON then raced in restricted room for some distance inside DAY DAY RICH between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres.
After the 250 Metres, ALLOY KING was shifted to the inside of LORIZ when unable to improve between that horse and M M JOHNNY.
When commencing to give ground, DAY DAY RICH was crowded for room approaching the 100 Metres between SHENRON which continued to improve into tight running inside DAY DAY RICH and ALLOY KING (H Bentley) which got its head on the side and lay in.
H Bentley was advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances.
In this incident, SHENRON was bumped on the hindquarters by DAY DAY RICH when continuing to race tight inside that horse.
A veterinary inspection of DAY DAY RICH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ALLOY KING and M M JOHNNY were sent for sampling.

Well-fancied Alloy King split rivals near 100m to take control 50m out after getting a lovely run fifth along the fence for a third career win at his 28th start. He lived up to an improved effort last start. M M Johnny made it close on the wire after a prominent run one off the fence. He is a winner waiting to happen with seconds at both tracks over 1,200m in three of his past four starts. Heavenly Thought came from last to snatch a placing. He has hit the line with purpose in his past two starts and can bob up at any moment. Loriz grudgingly gave way after stalking the speed of Day Day Rich. He was anchored by the big weight despite dropping into Class Five for the first time. Zacian was doing some nice work late down the outside after making his run one from the rear. He is honest as the day is long. Punted late, Shenron was short of room along the inside in the run to the wire after sitting in the box seat. He had an excuse. Travel Glory ran on without menacing from towards the rear. You can forgive the run of Wins All, who came up flat after a wide-without-cover trip in midfield from an awkward gate.
