Favourite Legion Of Merit outfinished Red Brick Fighter after poking his head in front 150m out from behind midfield to ring up a second win plus two placings this season. He is in great form and can win again. Red Brick Fighter found one too good after a one-off-the-fence trip from midfield. He relished a return to the course and distance of a win with Hugh Bowman back on board. Newcomer Eighteen Palms kept on gamely to finish a close third after a prominent run. He has an encouraging future. Villa Fionn was doing his best work late near the outside to finish next best after getting bothered for a clear run by Lifeline Vision until the 200m. He is a winner waiting to happen at this level but probably needs a stronger rider. Noble Steed made some ground after making his run five back on the rail. It was another honest effort by the old-timer. Punted late, River Views just held his ground from midfield on the fence. It was another typical performance despite a rise in trip. Lifeline Vision ran on without threatening down the outside after making his run three from the rear.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (303) - TSUN YIP HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

VILLA FIONN got its head up on jumping and began only fairly.

NOBLE STEED and ON EXCEL STAR bumped on jumping.

GANG OF BROTHERS shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of SUPER HORNET.

From the outside barriers, LIFELINE VISION, LUCKY BANNER and RIGHT HONOURABLE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.

When being shifted across behind runners, LUCKY BANNER proved very difficult to settle and got its head up for a considerable distance approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion.

For some distance after the 900 Metres, LUCKY BANNER continued to race very keenly and was awkwardly placed behind LIFELINE VISION.

When being steadied to allow GANG OF BROTHERS to cross, ON EXCEL STAR proved very difficult to settle and got its head up repeatedly when awkwardly placed close to the heels of GANG OF BROTHERS approaching and passing the 1000 Metres.

After the 450 Metres, LIFELINE VISION and VILLA FIONN raced tight as VILLA FIONN improved to the outside of NOBLE STEED.

Then at the 300 Metres, VILLA FIONN and LIFELINE VISION bumped as VILLA FIONN was shifted out away from the heels of NOBLE STEED.

In this incident, both VILLA FIONN and LIFELINE VISION became unbalanced.

VILLA FIONN and LIFELINE VISION again raced tight approaching and passing the 200 Metres.

Passing the 300 Metres, RIVER VIEWS raced close to the heels of SUPER HORNET when held up for clear running behind that horse.

SUPER HORNET then lay in and raced tight outside the heels of GANG OF BROTHERS passing the 250 Metres.

At the 50 Metres, LUCKY BANNER was shifted in away from the heels of LIFELINE VISION.

LEGION OF MERIT and RED BRICK FIGHTER were sent for sampling.
