Specked late at huge odds, Jubilation took control 100m out despite a wide run without cover better than midfield to ring up a maiden win at his ninth start. He relished a rise in trip after running on without menacing last start over the AWT mile. Boys Party kept on well for second after turning a length on top after clearing to the front 1,300m out from the widest draw. He's returned in better spirits with a placing once on each surface and can score shortly. Favourite Run Des Run roared home from last at the head of the straight to fill a placing. It was a good effort carrying a share of top weight. Sky Gem ran on steadily for fourth after a rails run better than midfield. He's pretty honest at this level. Oh Bravo came up one paced after a box-seat run. He's limited. Cable Speed came up one paced over the final 150m after a pace-stalking run from an outside draw. He shown some progress in his two starts this term. Winning Steed found nothing after a box-seat run. It was another disappointing effort trying the dirt for the first time. The brown-lamped Yee Cheong Brave never landed a blow from behind midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (122) - HOI PA HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1800Meters

YEE CHEONG BRAVE was slow to begin and then despite being ridden along in the early stages was slow to muster speed.

JOLLY HONOUR was also slow to begin and on jumping shifted out across the heels of WINNING STEED.

JUBILATION began awkwardly, shifted in and brushed OH BRAVO.

From wide barriers, RUN DES RUN and JOLLY FOREVER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Prior to the 1100 Metres, JOLLY FOREVER was shifted out and allowed to improve its position and raced wide and without cover.

After the 1100 Metres, JUBILATION was left racing wide and without cover.

For some distance after the 600 Metres, RUN DES RUN was awkwardly placed behind GO BALLISTIC.

RUN DES RUN was then held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn.

When questioned, L Ferraris stated that he was asked to begin positively on GO BALLISTIC tonight but not to ride his mount along in the early stages to obtain a forward position.

He said GO BALLISTIC began well and he allowed the horse the opportunity to show natural speed, however, he was of the opinion that to clear the runners to its inside in the early stages would have resulted in him having to make use of his horse and therefore he elected to try and obtain a position with cover behind SPEED FORCE.

He said as he did this JOLLY HONOUR was ridden along to improve its position inside GO BALLISTIC which resulted in his mount racing in a three wide position passing the winning post on the first occasion.

He said rather than remain racing three wide he elected to steady GO BALLISTIC and obtain a trailing position behind JOLLY HONOUR which was further back in the field than had been anticipated.

A veterinary inspection of JOLLY HONOUR, YEE CHEONG BRAVE and SPEED FORCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

RUN DES RUN, JUBILATION and BOYS PARTY were sent for sampling.
