Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (774) - LEI YUE MUN PUBLIC RIDING SCHOOL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
CORDYCEPS TWO began awkwardly and then travelled keenly for some distance in the early stages.
BORN THE SAME DAY and RIGHT AS RAIN bumped on jumping.
LUCKY MISSILE shifted in at the start and bumped PAKISTAN FRIEND.
From wide barriers, SMILING TIME and CHATER PINS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
Passing the 1200 Metres, SMILING TIME became unbalanced and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of RIGHT AS RAIN after being bumped by SUPER HONG KONG which improved to be racing outside the heels of BORN THE SAME DAY.
After the 1100 Metres, RED ELYSEES was left racing wide and without cover.
CHATER PINS had some difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight.
CHATER PINS was then shifted to the inside of BORN THE SAME DAY passing the 300 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of CHEERY, RIGHT AS RAIN, JOYFUL HEART and VUKAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
RIGHT AS RAIN, CORDYCEPS TWO and SUPER HONG KONG were sent for sampling.

Cordyceps Two responded nicely after a one-off run better than midfield to claim victory 20m out. He's not reliable but relished a step up to 1,800m to build on an earlier win over 1,600m. Super Hong Kong ran on nicely through the centre of the track to make it close on the wire after a patient ride two from the rear. It was a return to form after misfiring twice. Chater Pins wove a run late near the inside to finish a close third settling last from a wide draw. He keeps promising without delivering. Lucky Missile lost a placing very late after moving to the lead 100m out chasing the leader Shanghai Dragon in the box-seat. He has been racing well all season long. Pakistan Friend just missed the frame after a one-off trip behind midfield. He's never far off the mark. Shanghai Dragon had nothing left in the tank 100m out clearing to the lead from a wide draw. Born The Same Day ran on without menacing travelling five back along the fence. He needs a stronger rider. Favourite Right As Rain made only a mild bid down the outside travelling five back and one off the rail. It was an out-of-character performance.
