Oversubscribed took control 150m out after improving from the rear of the field 600m out for an upset win. It was a shock result on his past 1,200m form. Stoicism found one too good after finding the front from a middle draw. It was a good run down in grade despite carrying top weight. Durham Star stayed on very well for third after a wide run without cover in midfield from gate 12. He's run well in defeat in back-to-back runs from outside alleys. Favourite Gang Of Brothers just lost a placing after a rails run in midfield. He's shown ability in his six starts and can break through shortly. Hercules ran on steadily down the outside without menacing after being ridden toward the rear from a tricky gate. It was another honest effort. Singapore Spirit couldn't turn it up another notch after a box-seat run. He's still a work in progress. Birdsville ran on without menacing near the inside after straightening three from the rear. He's better suited at Sha Tin. Ambitious Heart weakened after a prominent run. He's destined for Class Five. Harmony N Home found nothing when asked for more after getting shuffled back to have two behind him rounding the final bend. He has been disappointing.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (677) - NINEPIN GROUP HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

HAPPILY FRIENDS began awkwardly and stumbled on jumping, resulting in the horse losing ground.

HAPPILY FRIENDS was the shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

BIRDSVILLE began only fairly.

FARSHAD shifted out at the start and inconvenienced HERCULES.

OVERSUBSCRIBED shifted out at the start and bumped THE GOOD DEAL.

OVERSUBSCRIBED was then shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier.

DURHAM STAR was also steadied to obtain cover from the outside barrier in the early stages.

DURHAM STAR was then left racing wide and without cover near the 700 Metres.

Approaching the 1100 Metres, HERCULES was bumped by FARSHAD which shifted out away from the heels of STOICISM.

After the 900 Metres, AMBITIOUS HEART travelled keenly when being steadied to obtain cover behind STOICISM.

For some distance after the 700 Metres, BIRDSVILLE raced close to the heels of GANG OF BROTHERS.

FARSHAD was awkwardly placed behind HARMONY N HOME approaching the 600 Metres.

At the entrance to the Straight, AMBITIOUS HEART became unbalanced when directed to the outside of THE GOOD DEAL to obtain clear running.

After the race, K Teetan reported that HERCULES did not feel comfortable in its action in front over the latter stages.

A veterinary inspection of HERCULES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, HERCULES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Also after the race, Z Purton stated that, in his opinion, HARMONY N HOME's run tonight was better than it appeared taking into account the circumstances of the race.

He said after being able to obtain a position behind the leaders in the early stages, HARMONY N HOME was taken back further in the field after the 800 Metres when AMBITIOUS HEART was steadied in advance of HARMONY N HOME to obtain cover.

He said this resulted in HARMONY N HOME having to race further back in the field than had been intended.

He said HARMONY N HOME was then very awkwardly placed close to the heels of AMBITIOUS HEART approaching and passing the 600 Metres which resulted in the horse being steadied and losing momentum.

He added that rounding the Home Turn HARMONY N HOME was again awkwardly placed behind AMBITIOUS HEART and it was not until in the early part of the Straight that he was able to shift to that horse's outside.

He said by this time HARMONY N HOME was racing towards the rear of the field.

He said because of these circumstances, in his opinion, HARMONY N HOME was then not able to finish the race off over the latter stages.

A veterinary inspection of HARMONY N HOME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GANG OF BROTHERS, OVERSUBSCRIBED and STOICISM were sent for sampling.
