Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (675) - TUNG LUNG CHAU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
TELECOM CHEETAH was found to have sustained an abrasion to the right hock in the saddling stalls.
TELECOM CHEETAH was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that in his opinion the horse was suitable to race.
The start was delayed due to BULLETPROOF proving very difficult to load.
Having regard to BULLETPROOF's recent history of being difficult to load, the Stewards ruled that BULLETPROOF will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial prior to being permitted to race again.
CHATER PINS was crowded for room on jumping between REACH GOAL which shifted out after being brushed by BULLETPROOF and STIMULATION which was taken in by SUNNY DELIGHT.
LEGION OF MERIT began only fairly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of ASIAN ONE.
From wide barriers, TELECOM CHEETAH and VICTORIOUS SEEKER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1700 Metres, WINNING VOLATILITY was bumped by LEGION OF MERIT which shifted in away from ASIAN ONE when being crossed by that horse.
Approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion, SUNNY DELIGHT travelled keenly when being steadied to obtain cover behind SUN OF MAKFI.
FAST PACE travelled wide and without cover until passing the 900 Metres.
Passing the 300 Metres, WINNING VOLATILITY raced tight inside ASIAN ONE which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
Near the 250 Metres, BULLETPROOF shifted in under pressure towards the heels of LEGION OF MERIT.
Passing the 200 Metres, CHATER PINS was directed to the inside of FAST PACE to continue improving.
After the race, M F Poon stated that after obtaining a forward position, he commenced to steady ASIAN ONE approaching the winning post on the first occasion to obtain cover as instructed.
He said ASIAN ONE travelled keenly when unable to obtain cover in the early stages and after being crossed by FAST PACE approaching the 800 Metres came off the bridle and then did not finish the race off.
A veterinary inspection of ASIAN ONE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Long shot Telecom Cheetah made a strong bid through the centre to overhaul Chater Pins in deep stretch after a patient ride at the rear of the field from a wide draw. He had placed in one of his past three Class Fours after sharing the win in Class Five in March. Chater Pins was touched off late after weaving a run near the inside to lead 100m out following a rails run behind midfield. He's close to a win. Sun Of Makfi found a couple too smart in the end after working to the lead 150m out after tracking the leader Asian One from a tricky gate. He continues to knock on the door on both surfaces. Bulletproof took a while to load into the gates but kept plugging away to fill the frame after a prominent run along the fence. It was a better effort with the claim well utilised on his past couple following a win in February. Reach Goal ran on steadily to earn a minor cheque after a one-off run behind midfield. He proved a surprise second last start over the 1,650m wasn't a total fluke. Early favourite Winning Volatility only plodded after a rails run in midfield. He continues to be costly this season. Late-fancied favourite Sunny Delight ran on steadily without menacing after a one-off trip in midfield. He had no excuse.
