Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (801) - THE LI CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1200Meters
THE BEST HERO shifted in at the start and bumped PICHU.
SINCERE BOY shifted out on jumping and bumped DASHING FIT.
PICHU travelled keenly for some distance in the early stages.
Passing the 1100 Metres, DASHING FIT raced tight inside the heels of SPRINT FORWARD.
Making the turn near the 700 Metres, SO AWESOME and DASHING FIT raced tight.
At the 450 Metres, THE BEST HERO raced tight between JADE THEATRE and AMAZING KNIGHT which shifted out marginally away from the heels of LUCKY RUBY.
THE BEST HERO was then held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight and approaching the 250 Metres was shifted out a number of horses to obtain clear running.
Near the 250 Metres, SPRINT FORWARD was bumped by AMAZING KNIGHT which improved into tight running between that horse and LUCKY RUBY.
Then after the 200 Metres, SPRINT FORWARD, which was commencing to give ground, was shifted out away from the heels of AMAZING KNIGHT.
Also near the 250 Metres, DASHING FIT and JADE THEATRE brushed.
After the 150 Metres, B Shinn (DASHING FIT) dropped his whip.
As this was the third occasion this season that Jockey Shinn had been reported to have dropped his whip in races, he was placed on notice that should he offend again in the near future, further action may be taken.
Throughout the race, SO AWESOME travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned, Z Purton stated that after proceeding to the Start in a satisfactory manner, UNTOLD RICHES took a number of short strides on jumping and he immediately became concerned that the horse had gone amiss as it would not stretch out and therefore he eased the horse out of the race.
A veterinary inspection of UNTOLD RICHES following the race found that horse to be lame in both hind legs with further diagnostic assessment to be undertaken.
UNTOLD RICHES was also found to have blood at the left nostril and an endoscopic examination conducted on the horse confirmed it to be a bleeder.
Before being allowed to race again, UNTOLD RICHES will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of SINCERE BOY, SPLIT OF A SECOND, THE BEST HERO and PICHU immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
COOLCELEB and DASHING FIT were sent for sampling.

Coolceleb swooped late down the outside to win going away 30m out after turning the final bend one from the rear. He appreciated the claimer's allowance with a return to his preferred course and distance. Post-time favourite Dashing Fit found one too good after hitting the front 150m out following a deep trip in midfield. It was another fine effort. Jade Theatre kept on gamely for third despite getting caught five deep chasing the speed early on from gate 12. He did win two back in Class Five over this trip. So Awesome stayed on well to just take fourth despite getting posted no better than four deep without cover in midfield. He rarely produces a bad run on either surface but struggles to win. Amazing Knight just failed to hit the frame after a prominent run on the fence. He was able to back up an improved performance last start. Lucky Ruby was gone 100m out after getting pressured for the lead by Sprint Forward. He's on his mark after winning two on the trot back in March and April. Early favourite The Best Hero came up onepaced better than midfield after getting held up for a run until the 200m. Untold Riches didn't want to take part and was eased down after jumping slowly.
