Firming favourite Fairy Floss wore down Dragon Commander in the dying stages after a one-off trip in midfield to ring up a second win on this surface from his past three starts. Dragon Commander found one just too good after sustaining an early move, producing a deep run with cover behind midfield to lead 300m out. It was another solid performance after sharing the win with Fairy Floss last start. Proud Sky ran on well down the outside after a patient ride to snatch third close to home. He rarely produces a bad run over the 1,800m on either surface at this level. Mister Monte had his chance following a box-seat run. He might still be underdone with only two prior runs under his belt this term. Sky Gem ran on late without menacing from behind midfield. It was another honest effort but he has trouble winning. Regency Gem gradually faded after working hard to lead from a middle draw. He had an excuse but is better ridden held-up for a run. Veteran General Dino found nothing when push came to shove after travelling four back and one off the fence. He's beyond his better days and the turf seems to suit him better nowadays.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (549) - TROPICBIRD HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1800Meters

PROUD SKY was slow to begin and then was crowded for room between MISTER MONTE and FAIRY FLOSS which shifted out.

WEALTHY EMPLOYEE shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of STAR WIN.

After this, STAR WIN was steadied from a wide barrier to obtain cover.

From a wide barrier, REEVE'S MUNTJAC was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After travelling a short distance, GENERAL DINO was bumped by MISTER MONTE which shifted out marginally.

Near the 1200 Metres, DRAGON COMMANDER was left racing wide and without cover and passing the 1000 Metres was allowed to improve its position, however, continued to race wide and without cover.

Making the turn near the 700 Metres, SKY GEM lay in and was awkwardly placed outside the heels of GENERAL DINO which shifted out marginally.

After the race, J Moreira stated that GENERAL DINO travelled satisfactorily for the first half of the race, however, came under pressure near the 700 Metres and then was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to finish off the race.

A veterinary inspection of GENERAL DINO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

FAIRY FLOSS and DRAGON COMMANDER were sent for sampling.
