Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (798) - TOLO HARBOUR HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
C Schofield (ROMANTIC COMBO) was fined the sum of $3,000 for failing to declare a probable 2 lb overweight on the horse at the time of declaration.
AWE and PICKEN began only fairly and then were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
SUPERBELLA was crowded for room on jumping between SWIFT SPIRIT and STAR OF YUEN LONG which shifted in after being bumped by NATURAL WINNER.
From a wide barrier, ROMANTIC COMBO was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover in the early stages.
Despite being ridden along for a considerable distance in the early stages, HINYUEN SWIFTNESS was slow to muster speed and consequently travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.
Near the 650 Metres, CIRCUIT GLORY got its head up when awkwardly placed behind NATURAL WINNER.
AWE, which was following CIRCUIT GLORY, was checked away from the heels of that horse in consequence.
Rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, CIRCUIT GLORY was awkwardly placed behind NATURAL WINNER.
Then passing the 400 Metres, CIRCUIT GLORY was shifted to the inside of NATURAL WINNER to obtain clear running.
A veterinary inspection of UNIQUE TREASURE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
AWE and CIRCUIT GLORY were sent for sampling.

Favourite Awe stormed home to snatch victory close to home after a patient ride third from the rear. It's taken him all season to find his feet but did put the writing on the wall last time out and the booking of Zac Purton produced the good. Circuit Glory finished nicely to make it close on the wire after ducking inside for a clear run at the 350m following a one-off run behind midfield. Well-backed late Picken came from last and widest out to make it a thriller on the wire. He's been racing well all season long over this trip. Star Of Yuen Long was swamped in the final few metres after getting his own way in front with the claim well utilised. Eligere came up flat tackling an extra 200m travelling midfield. He's destined for Class Four. Wisdom Patch stayed on all right after a wide with cover run behind midfield. He didn't beat much but it was a positive debut effort.
