Racing Incident Report
Race One: (170) - MORSE PARK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
WINNER APPROACH began awkwardly.
BRIGHT KID began awkwardly and then lost ground when crowded for room between WONDER EXPRESS and TRIPLE TRIPLE which shifted in.
In this incident, WONDER EXPRESS became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by BRIGHT KID.
Shortly after the start, BINGO and SIMPLY SPECTACULAR bumped.
When being steadied to obtain cover from a wide barrier, KA YING EXCELLENT raced in restricted room shortly after the start between INVALUABLE and XIANG LAN QI.
INVALUABLE and XIANG LAN QI were also shifted across behind runners shortly after the start to obtain cover.
From the outside barrier, GUNNAR was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Approaching the 900 Metres, WOOD ON FIRE raced tight inside BINGO.
Making the first turn after the 900 Metres, MIGHTY GIANT got its head on the side and lay out and then after the 800 Metres became unbalanced of its own accord.
Both WOOD ON FIRE and TRIPLE TRIPLE were held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.
BRIGHT KID had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the early part of the Straight and approaching the 300 Metres was shifted out a number of horses to find clear running.
Passing the 400 Metres, MIGHTY GIANT was shifted out away from the heels of LUCKY GUY which, after initially being taken out by WONDER EXPRESS, then shifted out away from that horse.
At the 300 Metres, TRIPLE TRIPLE shifted out and made contact with VOYAGE STAR.
Throughout the race, VOYAGE STAR travelled wide and without cover.
Z Purton (SIMPLY SPECTACULAR) was fined $5,000 for improper use of the whip in that he raised weal marks over the horse's right hindquarter.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on WONDER EXPRESS at the request of Trainer K H Ting.
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, WONDER EXPRESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of GUNNAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SIMPLY SPECTACULAR and LUCKY GUY were sent for sampling.

Favourite Simply Spectacular kept on gamely for win on debut here after advancing to the front 250m out stalking the leader Bingo one off the fence. He was able to live up to his trials and has the tools to win another. Lucky Guy finished well after landing a lovely spot one off the fence in midfield from a wide gate. He can always run a big race over this trip if the ground is fast. Triple Triple stayed on well after saving ground in midfield. He was able to build on a luckless run on debut and is heading in the right direction. Wonder Express made some ground better than midfield to fill the frame. It was a good effort in his first run in 158-days following a stable change. Bright Kid closed off well after angling out sharply for a clear run at the 250m following a rail run four back. The bottom of the handicaps is near for him. Wood On Fire kept on evenly over the last 150m after being held up from the top of the straight until near the 200m following a box-seat run.
