Recap by phillip woo

Hardly Swears came with a bold move down the outside following a one-off run in midfield to cut down favourite Travel Datuk in the dying stages. Travel Datuk was just denied after surging to the lead 200m out following a prominent run on the fence. He did everything right but get the win. Mischievous Sundae split rivals late to grab a placing close to home following a ground-saving run behind midfield. He's still a work in progress but has flashed ability to place in two of his seven runs. Punted late Bright Kid was just denied a placing following a handy run. Shouson gave way inside the final 150m after rolling to the lead from an awkward gate 1,050m out. He's showing some life signs but still has not bottomed out. Amazing Paradise kept on all right following a midfield run on the fence. It wasn't a bad effort first-up but is likely going to need a bit more education. Everbrave found nothing after a one-off run tracking the speed. He's not reliable.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (80) - NAKAYAMA HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

STUNNING IMPACT was slow to begin.

From wide barriers, HAPPY WIN WIN and MISCHIEVOUS SUNDAE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Despite being vigorously ridden throughout the early stages, MULTIMAX failed to muster sufficient speed to be able to cross EVERBRAVE and consequently travelled wide and without cover and then weakened in the Straight.

A veterinary inspection of MULTIMAX immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Just prior to the finishing line, N Callan (TRAVEL DATUK) dropped his left rein.

When questioned, A Domeyer stated that after being ridden along to take up a prominent positon as instructed, EVERBRAVE commenced to travel keenly making the turn near the 1000 Metres.

He said along the Back Straight he was hoping that MULTIMAX, which was racing to the outside of EVERBRAVE, would be able to cross his mount which may have afforded the horse the opportunity to relax better, however, EVERBRAVE continued to travel keenly outside the leader SHOUSON.

A Domeyer added that due to the manner in which EVERBRAVE travelled throughout the early and middle stages, the horse was then not able to close off the race and weakened noticeably over the final 150 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of EVERBRAVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HARDLY SWEARS and TRAVEL DATUK were sent for sampling.
